“Did you tell her?”
“Harlow,” he greeted. “No, I didn’t.”
“And why?” he whispered.
He considered his answer, torn with several. “It’s not the right time.”
He let out a long sigh. “Buddy... what are you doing?” he pled.
He made his way toward the back of the room. “Maybe...having a little fun.”
“You cannot hurt this girl,” he barely said.
Kaphas paused. “I would kill... anybody who touched one single hair on her head,” he promised quietly.
“Alright,” he surrendered after a span of silence. “I’m guessing you want unfettered access to her.”
“That would be a definite yes if it wasn’t just up to me.”
“I’ll take care ofher.”
“How?”
“They technically all work for me.”
“I see,” he said, excited now.
“So...maybe you’re in a special program that requires special measures to evolve you. Like...friendship, or some shit.”
He held back a laugh. “Okay. Do I get to always be with her?”
“Do youwantto?”
“Yes.”
“Then yes. You’re not to be left alone.”
“I want to see her.”
“What do you mean?”
“Naked.”
“Well, what the fuck you want me to do about that?” he cried.
“Fuck if I know, I’m only two days old.”
He let out a laugh that made Kaphas grin. “Bruh, you’re definitely our brother. How are you feeling by the way?”
“I have a list for Quantum.”
“So...what you wanna do with her. Tell me straight.”
He considered that. “I just...maybe I want to hold her.”
“Jeeeesus Christ,” he barely said. “She used to sleep with you in that tin body so it shouldn’t be hard to arrange.”
“But I’m Kaphas,” he reminded.
