“No, I can’t,” Bishop marveled, remembering the red headed kid Juliette had babysat.

“Then Lynard Mouton’s on Crime and Public Safety, Mary Lou Boutte is on Health and Science and Lazure’s on Economics and Finance.”

“Our Lazure?”

“The one and only,” Bart bragged with a laugh. “And Mah-Mah is on Religion.”

Bishop’s chuckles cut loose. “Mon Dieu, this is truly a family business.”

“Indeed,” Jek chuckled with the rest of them.

“So Mah-Mah is watching out for the chapel crazies,” Seer mused, his words smiling.

“Like a hawk,” Zep said. “And me and Boone, Cat’s brother, are on Technology and Cyber Security.”

Bart took over with, “And Juliette is on Entertainment and Celebrities—” Another round of laughs came as he talked over them. “I’m on Weather, August is on Environmental News and last but not least, Jek is on Science—the non-health shit.”

“Now I see why it’s called the Marsh Matrix,” Traps said. “Although, The SwampSnarefits nicely too.”

“Speaking of snares, how’s that fate dice marriage going?” Bullets wondered, bringing on a round of laughs that got louder with Traps mention of needingbiggerropes for his littleknotty wench.

“Once The Marsh Matrix is up and running,” 8-Bit said, “Big G will be able to give detailed reports in real time. I’ll have alerts in place for the things we’d want to know right away and they’d be set to do deep dive analysis on anything that looks like a pattern of interest.”

“Fucking fantastic,” Bishop said, feeling fifty times better than he did thirty minutes prior. “How are we doing on the expansion plans?”

“Again, with the help of Big G,” Bart said, “we input our need and that genius sonofachip spit out all the materials we’d need and the time it’d take to accomplish it.”

“Which is what?” Bishop marveled

“Got that riiiight here,” Bart muttered, bringing more paper slapping.

“Just give me the gist and message me the details,” Bishop said.

“The full housing expansion, with our discounts, comes to 2.5 million for material onlyperhatch and a grand total of 25 million for the entire Hoard.”

“Holy shit,” Bishop muttered. “You think the King’s arethatrich?”

“Guess we’re about to find out,” Bart said.

“We can always downsize. This is a fifty percent increase in all Hatches.”

Bishop held the lavatory again, shaking his lowered head. “Let’s fly it by them and let them decide that.”

“We’ll need to talk about the daily living expenses for this increase,” Jek said.

“You have those numbers?”

“Yes sir.”

Bishop remembered. “Keep in mind whoever may end up herewillpull their weight.”

“Agreed,” Jek said. “My estimations are for all the supplies required to get a family self-sustained.”

He straightened from the lavatory, pacing in the small space. “Hit me.”

“If we’re adding fifty houses to each Hatch, that’s $2,000 a day per Hatch. Times twelve Hatches—”

“Twenty-four thousand dollars a fucking day,” Bishop finished, astonished.
