She covered her leg. “So, you check with your men—I already know the wives like this time.”

“Yes ma’am. Are we done?”

“Well, it would be nice to know what we’re doing for the first six classes,” she winced. “Atleast.”

“Six?” he marveled. “Why such a satanic number, Ma Petite?”

Her head went back with a big laugh and the sight made him ravenous.

“I need you. Wife.”

She went quiet, eyeing him. The tablet and pen got set aside and she turned her body, opening her legs. “Why didn’t you say so?Bishop.”

He was instantly drunk with lust and fought with his need to rip her clothes off. With every ounce of restraint, heworkedher panties down her legs while she removed her t-shirt, drawing his gaze to those hard peaks. He slowly guided her ankles open, propping her feet on the bed so she had plenty of pumping leverage.

“So…no fucking?” she whispered, breathless already.

“For the love of our child,” he gasped, going down on her sweet pussy. “I will not.”

Rukem was winded when he reached the door to his Brother’s chamber. It opened before he could knock.

“King Rukem.”

Rukem nodded once. “Zodak. Thank you for seeing me.”

“Come in,” he said, standing aside.

Rukem hurried in and knelt to catch Jinxx in his embrace with a laugh. “Somebody missed their favorite King, yes she did.”

“Traitor,” Zodak marveled as he passed them. “What brings you, Brother?”

Rukem stood and sat on the black leather couch that matched the rest of the black interior from ceiling to floor. “I need you to see if this coin has put darkness in me.”

He angled his head from the large chair he’d taken. “What causes you to think this?”

“I’m experiencing…things that defy the very things our oaths stand for.”

The King stood and Rukem did too. He flipped up the gates over his eyes and stared right into his while his pulse thumped in his temples with trepidation. He finally shook his head and flipped the gates back down.

“You are clean, King. There is no malevolence.”

“But…I’ve lied and deceived. Manipulated for selfish gain.”

He sat and aimed his reflective gates at him. “Apparently not malevolently.”

What was he saying? That everything he’d done was…acceptable?

“Perhaps it would be better to speak with King Nidev about those thoughts,” Zodak said.

Rukem sat slowly. “I originally thought to see him but…cannot.”

His head switched angles. “Why not?”

“You know the Kings have all agreed to engage with our Bayou Brothers in regard to learning more about… romantic relations to better serve us in our futile pairing initiatives.”

“I have heard only pieces of this.”
