“It’s logical to assume,” Nidev said.

“I’ll begin running it through my databases,” King Thakx said.

“Good. Let me know what you find,” Nidev said. “And the Bishop so he can keep his people informed.”

“Probably wouldn’t hurt if we all took a jab at it,” Bishop said getting everybody’s agreement.

“May I touch them?” Alerik asked Maggie.

She nodded and everybody made room for the King as he stood before the table, slowly tracing all his fingers along the pages. “This is…several things. A timeline of sorts.” He placed his palms fully on all four at several angles. “I cannot tell exactly what, however,” he mused, stepping back in quiet awe while Rukem waited for him to saysomethingabout him and Sophie. Surely, he wasn’t the only one baffled or concerned over it. He glanced at Ace, finding his face the same as before. Hehadto be bothered by it if Rukem was ready to punch him for merely standing that close to Darby in adrawing.

“He’s next,” Maggie whispered.

Everybody turned to see her pointing to Vex.

His brother made his way before her and gave her his right hand. “My dominant hand?”

She nodded and took it in hers, repeating the same blind touch act as before.

Her mate laid four more sheets of paper on the table while some of his other brothers continued to study the first set of images she’d drawn off him.

She released Vex and snatched up the pen. Her breaths seemed sharper and faster as they all watched the ink fill the page.

“She’s moving four times the speed of a normal human,” Lore marveled next to him. “Her pen upon the paper matches that of brainwaves.”

She put the pen down, whimpers carrying her every breath as she rearranged the sheets then spun into the ready embrace of her waiting mate. He soothed her with soft French as they all gathered around another four-page drawing.

“Who is this?” Nidev pointed to a woman standing before Vex and peering up at him with a curious gaze. Only she had no face.

“They stand in the same manner as the first,” Thakx said.

“The coin is also behind them,” Vale observed. “Only it has nothing on it. What is that?”

He pointed to what looked like a woman and a bird with a strange, human-like body.

“That’s me and my wife.”

All eyes turned to Vex’s Bayou Bat friend who fingered the drawing. “I’m part bat. And she’s…my master.” The potent hunger in his tone stirred the hairs on Rukem’s arm. The man turned his strange eyes on Vex, the blue one unusually bright. “Your blood haunts my dreams, King.”

“I’m ready,” Maggie whispered.

All turned to see her look around then point. “Him.”

It went this way for all the Kings, four more pages getting added to the building puzzle within an hours’ time.

When she was done, Lore moved the sets of images so they lay in a single line on the floor where they all walked along them in single file to discern what they could.

“Can I take pictures?” He eyed their tech-leader. 8-Bit.

“Absolutely,” Nidev said. “Everybody needs copies of these. Same as the coin, we’re open to hear all theories.”

“Unless her gift is partial tofour, then this is like a quadrascroll,” Lore said once he reached the end of the image line. He regarded the Marsh Brothers. “That’s a type of prophetic puzzle that comes in various forms of four.”

Nidev called for silence over the growing heated discussions regarding what the images meant. “Let us go in order of the readings.” He turned to Rukem. “Beginning with King Rukem. Tell us what you discern of this. Lore, record please.”

“Yes,” Lore said, pulling out his phone then eyeing Rukem with a nod.

“I’m afraid I have more questions than answers,” Rukem said, realizing if he said all the things he saw, it might do more harm to his cause than good.
