“Just enough to scatter around the house to make things more comfortable. The blue ones will be perfect for that big bed of yours,” she promised, leading him into the house with her own load of the pillows she’d pillaged from the home goods store.

She’d always had an addiction to decorative pillows but this time, she’d outdone herself. There wasn’t going to be an unpadded surface in this entire house by the time she was done.

“Are you trying to imply that my bed isn’t comfortable enough for you?” he growled into the crease her neck once he caught up to her in the bedroom.

His hot breath fanning over the tender skin at the back of her neck had her insides heating. “Well…”

Leo nibbled at the sensitive area making her squirm. “I think you might need a reminder of what already comes with my bed.”

Jazz turned in his arms, the bags of pillows now forgotten on the floor.

“Yes, please.”

Epilogue

“How did you keep it a secret?” Jazz asked, her eyes narrowed on her best friend. “Youcan’t keep secrets.”

“Who’s keeping secrets?” Joey asked as he delivered a platter of nachos to their table.

“This bitch,” she said, tilting her head in Winter’s direction.

“Ignore her,” her friend said with a roll of her eyes. “She’s just salty we were able to surprise her at my wedding.”

“Of course I was surprised!” she exclaimed, her words loud despite how rowdy The Tinderbox was. “I never in a million years expected to get engaged on your wedding day. I had no clue it was going to happen until I saw Leo got down on one knee.”

“That was the point,” Winter reminded her.

“But you can’t keep a secret!” she growled. “I know that from personal experience.”

“When have I ever told your secrets?”

Jazz narrowed her eyes on her bestie. “Remember the split pants incident at Medina’s?” she questioned with a glare. “You didn’t keep that to yourself.”

“Oh yeah,” Winter smiled, picking out a couple chips from the pile. She snorted, “That was funny, though. You can’t expect me to keep funny shit a secret.”

“Seriously?” she asked, her jaw dropping.

“You split your pants at Medina’s?” Joey asked from where he was still standing beside their table. “When did this happen?”

“It’s not important,” she told him with a wave of her hand. “What’s important is that my best friend kept a secret from me—”

“And you’re mad about it?” he interrupted with a puzzled look on his face. He looked down at the antique engagement ring she was wearing. “Do you not want to marry Leo?”

“What the—” her fiancé froze a few steps from their table.

“No!” she yelled in a panic. She looked at Leo. “I mean, yes. I want to marry you.”

“Good,” he said, sliding into his chair. “Are you still going on about Winter keeping secrets?”

“Yes!” she hissed, remembering what they were talking about before she’d gotten distracted. She looked at Winter with narrowed eyes once again. “She had no problem telling everyone about my ass hanging out in the taco shop, but she couldn’t give a me a heads up when I was about to get engaged. She couldn’t find a way to say,hey girl, maybe you shouldn’t look like roadkill right now because a life changing event is about to happen.”

“You didn’t look like roadkill,” Winter argued with a shake of her head. “The pictures my photographer snapped turned out great. You were just barefoot, missing an earring, and had some smudged makeup from crying through the ceremony.”

Jazz dropped her head into her hands with a heavy sigh.

“None of that mattered,” Leo promised. “The only thing I cared about was you saying yes.”

She couldn’t help but melt hearing that. She blew him a kiss.
