“Someone sabotaged her dive gear, then tried to take us out in a cave-in,” Dylan said. “There was a chase, some shooting…”

Dylan and Hollis exchanged a look.

“And, they stole all my notes from Salvador,” Hollis told him.

The information seemed to pain Diamond and he shook his head. “To be honest, I don’t know what Anthony is capable of. He’s a thief, a liar and my only son. A son I don’t even know anymore.”

“He’s dangerous,” Dylan said.

Diamond motioned to the small chest soaking in the tank. “You can leave it here. I’ll clean it up properly. Anthony, on the other hand, would’ve chopped it open with an axe.” Disappointment and sadness filled Diamond’s eyes. “Get back to that wreck before my son ravages through it. He never understood the importance of history and preservation. His greed will be his undoing.”

Hollis and Dylan stood up, and Diamond walked them to the front door.

“If there’s anything else I can do, just let me know."

“Thank you.” Hollis hugged him and Dylan shook his hand.

“Call us when you get that chest open,” Dylan said.

As Dylan started down the walkway, Diamond touched Hollis’s arm. “Can you trust him?”

“I think so,” she said and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Please, be careful, Hollis.”

“I will.”

With a reassuring smile that she didn’t quite feel, Hollis headed down the walkway toward Dylan.

“Do you think we should head back out to the wreck? Make sure Tony isn’t still hanging around?”

“Yeah. We should probably spend the night there,” Dylan said. “Keep an eye on things.”

“Okay,” she said.Another night with Dylan. She let out a low breath and felt her pulse speed up.

Hollis drove them back to his boat. She turned the Jeep off and sat there for a moment, her mind buzzing. So much was happening and she couldn’t tell where Dylan’s head was and that scared her.

Dylan got out and waited for her. “Are you hungry?” he asked.

“Yeah, I guess so,” she said.

“Why don’t I whip something up? Then, we can head back out to the Santa Lucia.”

“Okay,” she said and followed him onto the boat. Fisher wagged his tail when they walked inside.

“Hungry, boy?” Dylan asked. He poured some food into his bowl and set it down on the floor.

Now that the adrenaline and excitement of the find had wound down, she felt her nerves kick up. Dylan headed over to the fridge and pulled some things out. He looked more gorgeous than ever, of course, Hollis thought.

Damn him.Why couldn’t he just be unattractive? Why’d he have to have such thick brown hair and eyes the color of a Jolly Roger flag? So dark and deep, fathomless and full of mystery just like the ocean.

Hollis moved up behind him. Her gaze skimmed over his broad shoulders, long, lean torso and tight ass. He must’ve felt her heated look because he turned around and it’s as though her feelings reflected back in his eyes.

“Hollis-”

Hollis threw herself against him and their mouths and bodies slammed together. The kiss was hot and full of need. Their tongues dueled and danced in and out of each other’s mouths and Hollis ran her fingers through his dark hair and tugged.

“I need you,” she whispered and bit his lip.
