So many muscles.

And tan too.

Like he spent time with his shirt off doing muscly things outside.

Stop it! No!she chastised herself.

Picturing André all sweaty and shirtless was…

Sigh…

Who had triceps like that? Was it genetic? It didn’t make any sense. No one else had triceps that looked like that.

Where was she again?

She shook her head and took a deep breath. She needed to clear the images from her brain. They were too distracting.

Someone took the seat next to her. Ryan leaned across her to hand off one of his beers.

Nikki tracked the movement of the beer as it passed before her from one male hand to another. Her gaze traveled up the arm of the newcomer, and when her eyes landed on André’s handsome face, she wasn’t even surprised.

He’d obviously gone home after work and showered, unlike her. His hair was still wet and he was wearing charcoal shorts and a lavender t-shirt that made the green in his hazel eyes pop.

He waited for her to react, his gaze bouncing all around her face, to the hat on her head, and landing on her eyes.

And then he had the nerve to smile.

Not a huge smile.

Nothing so garish.

Just a small, barely there, whisper of a smile on his perfectly symmetrical lips.

“And I ask the universe one more time,” she said low and with a slow blink. “What the fuck?”

His smile grew a fraction and something that looked a little like remorse flickered in his gaze. “Hello, Nikki.”

She sighed with her whole body.

And not in the tingly, sexy way she had a few moments prior when she’d been thinking about the shape of André’s triceps.

No. This was the sigh of a woman who was nearing the end of her reserves of polite behavior.

That’s right.

She was one more surprise reveal away from needing to be handcuffed.

Again, not in a sexy way.

“André,” she said tightly. “What are you doing here?”

He inhaled and his eyes flicked over her shoulder. His mouth opened, but before words came out, Ryan answered.

“I invited him.”

Slowly, deliberately, Nikki swiveled in her seat to stare at her date.

His bright smile was in no way dimmed by her glare.
