No, that kiss earlier hadn’t been a fluke, or an impulse.

It had been a warning.

André used his fingertips to trace her hairline, over her chin, along her jaw. His eyes followed the movement, and the gentle tease made her skin hum and buzz with awareness.

“I have some questions,” he said, dragging his thumb over her lower lip.

Her eyelids dropped to half-mast and her breaths grew shallow.

His hand came back to her middle and curved around her ribs. His thumb caressed the underside of a breast and she shifted beneath him, wanting more.

His breath wafted over her cheek as he leaned close to her face.

“Nicole,” he said, low, soft. “Are you running away from your dream?”

The question was asked in such an intimate tone that she was completely caught off guard.

He carefully took her arm and stretched it above her head, then he smoothed his fingers down her arm, down her side to her hip. Every movement he made was slow, deliberate, almost lazy.

“Tell me what you’re afraid of,” he said nuzzling the skin next to her ear as his hand made contact with skin near the waistband of her panties.

Her eyes fluttered closed as the sensations threatened to overwhelm her in the best way.

“I’m afraid of ruining it,” she confessed. One of her hands trailed down the hot skin of his back. Because she needed to touch him. To feel the life humming under his skin and heating her from the outside in.

“How would you ruin it?” he asked, his lips grazing the shell of her ear. She turned her neck to give him more access.

Meanwhile, she was finding it very difficult to keep her legs still because they wanted to wrap around his thigh and hold on for dear life.

“What if I’m not as good as I think I am?” How was he getting all this out of her?Shehadn’t even had thoughts that coherent on the matter.

He was seducing the truth out of her.

And she wasn’t mad about it.

“Do you think everyone around you is a liar?” he asked, moving his mouth to hover over the column of her throat.

She arched her head back, silently begging him to give her more.

“Zara, Johnny, Asa… Have they all lied to you?” he asked, the hand under her shirt slid higher, smoothed across her stomach.

“No,” she dismissed that as an option. The people she surrounded herself with these days were the epitome of integrity. Her hand moved down his back and under the waistband of his sweatpants.

As she’d suspected, he wore nothing under them.

“Do you think they’re foolish?” he asked into her other ear.

“No.”

He lifted his head and she opened her eyes. His hazel irises were swirling with dark gold around the black of his pupil.

“You won’t ruin it,” he said confidently. His gaze dropped to her mouth. “And I won’t ruin this.”

He lowered his mouth to hers and slicked his tongue inside while he also dropped his thigh to apply pressure right where she needed it. Simultaneously, he swiped his thumb over her nipple.

A needy whimper came out of her followed by a delighted moan.

She could feel his arousal against her hip and she wanted to touch it. To taste it.
