She manages a watery smile, leaning into my touch. "I just... I don't want to disappoint you if they don't show up."

"Evie, listen to me," I say, my voice low and intense. "You could never disappoint me. Never. It doesn't matter if they showup or not. All that matters is that you're there. You're the heart of this pack, the center of our world. Nothing else matters."

She looks up at me, her eyes shining with unshed tears and something else—hope, maybe.

Or love.

My breath catches in my throat at the intensity of her gaze.

"I love you," she whispers, the words a balm to my soul. "All of you. So much."

I pull her close again, burying my face in her hair. "We love you too, Evie. More than you could ever know."

We stand there in the moonlit garden, wrapped in each other's arms, letting the night air cool our heated skin. And as I hold her, I make a silent vow. To always be there for her, to show her every day how much she means to us. To be the family she deserves.

Because Evie isn't just our omega. She's our everything.

CHAPTER 42

DAMIEN

The gallery is buzzing with energy, the cream of society mingling beneath the glittering chandeliers. I adjust my tie, my eyes scanning the room until they land on her.

Evie.

My omega.

She's a vision in a form-fitting green dress that hugs her curves like a lover's caress. Her golden hair is swept up in an elegant twist, exposing the graceful line of her neck. And there, stark against her creamy skin, peeking out above and below her gilded collar, are our marks. A visual testament to the fact that she's ours.

I watch as she glides through the crowd, greeting guests with a warm smile and a gracious word. She's in her element here, the perfect socialite omega. Poised, charming, and utterly captivating.

My chest tightens as I see her embrace Addison, the two of them laughing together like the old friends they are. Addison still hates us, but I know she came tonight for Evie. Can't say I blame her for the way she feels, either.

Fuck, I was such an ass.

I took everything Evie brought to the table for granted, too blinded by my own prejudices to see her value. Not just as an omega, but as a person. A brilliant, kind, fiercely loyal person who somehow saw past my bullshit and gave me a chance I sure as hell didn't deserve.

"She's really something, isn't she?"

I startle at the sound of my father's voice, tearing my gaze away from Evie to find him standing beside me. He's watching her too, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

"She's everything," I say without thinking, the words spilling out of me like a confession.

My father's eyebrows shoot up, surprise flickering across his face before it settles into something softer. Something like pride. "I'm glad you finally realized that, son. And that you finally marked your omega."

I nod, swallowing past the sudden lump in my throat. "I was a fool, Dad. I almost lost her because of my own stubborn pride."

He claps a hand on my shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring. "But you didn't. You woke up in time, and you're making things right. That's what matters."

We lapse into silence, both of us watching as Evie works her magic on the room. She's with Lake now, introducing him to a group of well-dressed alphas I recognize as major players in the art world.

Lake, usually so shy and reserved, is animatedly discussing his work, gesturing to the paintings on the walls. And it's all because of Evie, because of her gentle encouragement and unwavering support.

"You know," my father says, his voice thoughtful, "perhaps my judgment that you weren't ready to lead the company was premature."

I whip my head around to stare at him, sure I must have misheard. "What?"

He shrugs, a hint of a smirk playing at his lips. "You've shown a lot of growth recently, Damien. A lot of maturity. If you want to take on a more active role in the business, I'm willing to step aside."
