“It wasn’t like that. The pact doesn’t exist when it comes to Luna. I mean, even though that’s why we made the pact, but fuck. I wasn’t about to keep a pact when her lips were next to mine. I didn’t kiss her, exactly. It was a mutual thing. Like it was supposed to happen.”

“What was supposed to happen?” Luna asked as she came up behind Vince, carrying a real candle in one of those old-fashioned metal holders.

“Our kiss,” I blurted out, not wanting to try to hide anything.

“You told them?” she asked, looking positively beautiful, with her hair pulled up except for one thick strand caressing the side of her face. She wore black yoga pants and a short, orange, bulky sweater, with matching fuzzy socks. Her cheeks were rosy and her full, kissable lips were soft pink that made me hard just thinking about her mouth on mine. And if I thought of her mouth on my cock, well, I forced myself not to go there.

“I had to. I can’t keep something like that a secret.”

“Now is not the time to talk about sex.” The word came out of her mouth, and it hit us like she’d just stripped down naked.

“Whoa! Who said anything about sex?” Gone was Freddie’s anger. He now looked a bit embarrassed by the conversation. “We were talking about a kiss, or did it go further than a kiss, and Bram just left that part out?”

“All I know is that I was ready to do it right up against the wall in the hallway, until we heard Carrie Ann laugh… like she was watching us. It was like a girlish giggle. Like she was embarrassed or shy about the whole thing.”

“You would’ve had sex with me,” I wanted her to be clear. This was a new twist in our friendship, and I didn’t want to misread what she’d just said.

“In a heartbeat, babe. But that laugh scared the sex right out of me.”

“Maybe that’s the key? Maybe that’s the missing link to get Carrie Ann to talk to us. Maybe it attracts her. Do it again.”

“Do what again?” I asked, not believing that Vince wanted me to kiss Luna.

“This,” Luna said, placing her candle down on the table, then walking over to me, and crushing her lips on mine. “And maybe this.” She kissed me harder this time. “Or maybe this.” She wrapped her leg around mine and pressed her hips up so tight, I knew she felt my erection.

And there it was… Carrie Ann’s giggle.

Only this time, a small moan accompanied it, and everything stopped.

Even our kiss, which was life changing.

“So, does this mean our scary ghost has a thing for kisses?” I asked as we sat around our makeshift bed, in front of the roaring fire, chomping down on our pizza while the rain pelted the windows and roof, and thunder continued to rumble through the house.

“It sure seems like it,” Vince said, leaning back on the sofa as his long legs stretched out on the blanket in front of him. We’d settled in for the night, each of us wearing some sort of nightwear.

Vince wore thick cotton pajama bottoms, dark grey with white stripes, and a black, loose-fitting T-shirt that had seen much better days. Freddie wore Christmas themed pajamas, complete with reindeer with bright red noses, saying he didn’t own anything else. He usually slept in his underwear, but because I had joined the group, he’d dug these out. They were a gift from his gram.

Bram wore black silk, both on the top and bottom, because he “liked the way it felt against his skin.” I liked the way it looked on his muscled body.

“Might have to do more kissing, if that’s what gets Carrie Ann to show up,” Bram said, looking right at me.

“Hold on, Tiger,” I told him, looking forward to kissing him again… and again… and maybe again. Just not right now.

“The way I see it, we’re all your best friends, Luna. Shouldn’t you be sharing those lips equally with all of us?” Vince asked, then he took another massive bite of his slice of peperoni pizza.

I normally wore a comfy tight tee and cotton boy-shorts panties to bed, but because I was spending the night with these guys, I brought thick, light-gray yoga pants, a loose-fitting, thin, weaved sweater, and a bright-pink sports bra. We looked as if we were all trying our best to be respectful of each other, which we always did whenever I spent the night with these three.

We’d done it a lot over the years: camping, traveling across Europe and the States, and just spending the night at each other’s house or apartment, which we did a lot of in college. We all went to the same university… UC Davis. We’d planned it that way so we could support each other through the tough times when one of us or all of us might doubt our abilities. Or if any of us started on a drug or alcohol path, we wanted to be there for each other. Which totally worked. We all graduated with honors, never passed out at a party, or thought about dropping out. We were a good influence on each other… still were.

I hadn’t considered sharing the fun with my kisses, but now that Vince had mentioned it, the idea intrigued me.

“I might but just to see if Carrie Ann reacts. It would be a purely experimental kiss. Nothing more.”

“Oh fine,” Bram interjected. “And I thought our kisses were special.”

“They were, but let’s see what happens when I kiss Vince,” I told him, a bit nervous over the whole kissing thing. I drank down a little beer just to cleanse my pallet of cheese pizza, then crawled over Freddie to get to Vince.
