“What would you say if I told you I was falling for all three?”

She stared at me for a moment. The guy next to me ordered another round so she left to fill it, then got caught up with another order from a waiter.

I sucked down my wine and wanted a refill, but I didn’t want to call Tammy over. Maybe she didn’t like what I’d told her about falling for all three of the guys, which accounted for her avoiding me to pour more drinks. I called one of the other bartenders over. “Another Voga white, please.”

“Sure thing,” the dark-haired cowboy said. His nametag read Logan, and he looked as if he was barely old enough to be behind that bar. From the way he could pour a drink, I knew he had to be much older.

My wine arrived, along with Tammy. “You want to repeat what you said?”

“Are you sure you want to hear it?”

“Doll, if you said what I think you said, I am not worthy to pour your drinks. You, my darling, win the game, tenfold. Now tell me again, if you don’t mind, and this time, don’t leave out any of the details.”

I SANG ALONG withDrunk, And I Don’t Wanna Go Home, a hit by Miranda Lambert and Elle King,as Boone tried his best to lure me off the stage and out of Dirty Coyote. The place was essentially closed, and everyone was getting ready to lock up for the night, but I didn’t wanna leave. I was having too much fun.

“Tammy and Jimmy want to close up. Let’s just go,” Boone said.

“But I’m having fun,” I told him. “Don’t you want to have fun?”

“I do, but it’s time,” Kasey said. Where he came from, I didn’t know, but it was nice to see him.

The chorus came around again, and once again, I sang along, while holding up my now-empty glass of wine.

“Who knew you had such a great voice?” Austin said. “If you come home with us now, you can sing with us tomorrow night.”

I stopped singing. “But your songs aren’t as fun. I need a girl song. Like this one.” Once again, I belted out the lyrics.

“Okay. That’s it,” Boone said, and he picked me up and tossed me over his shoulder like I was a sack of feed.

“Are you taking me to bed?” I asked him, as someone snatched the wine glass out of my hand.

“Yes,” he said. “You need sleep.”

“Sleep? But I’m not sleepy at all. Let’s fuck, instead,” I said.

“Not tonight, darlin’,” Boone said, using his nickname for me. I liked that he had a nickname for me. Kasey had one too, although I couldn’t think of what it was now.

“Austin! Austin!” I yelled as we walked out the back door.

“I’m right here,” he said, and I could see he carried a purse that looked a lot like mine.

“Nice purse,” I told him. “I didn’t know you carried one. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but you know what? It looks just like mine.”

“It is yours,” he said.

“It is? Wow, you’re so nice. But why don’t you have a nickname for me?”

“A what?” he asked as he followed Boone.

I could only see his feet, but I knew they were Austin’s. He had wide feet, very wide feet, and it made me giggle.

“A nickname… oh wait. It’s Ace. I like that. You should call me that more often. They say you can tell a man’s dick size by his feet. Your feet are very wide. I guess that’s true then.”

Boone chuckled, and I could feel the vibration on my stomach.

“Now’s not the time,” Austin said as Boone eased me into the backseat of the car, trying his best to force me to sit up straight. I didn’t want to sit up, and I kept falling over. At least until he slid in next to me. Then I simply leaned on him.

“You feel so good, Boone. Want to fuck?”
