He shrugged. “Okay. But the offer stands. I guarantee it’ll make you feel better.” He went to the kitchen for some water, then returned to the living room and sat in the chair. “So, are we going to mope around all evening? Because if we are, then I’m going to drink that last beer in the refrigerator.” When she didn’t respond, he got up and went to the kitchen.
A few minutes later, as he was taking his first sip, Jade came to the doorway. “Put the beer down.”
“Why?”
“Because I think you’re right?”
“About…the sex?”
She walked over to him and took the beer out of his hand, then put her arms around his neck. “As good as last night apparently was, it has to be even better without the alcohol.”
“I totally agree with you.” He put his hands on her waist and pulled her in close. “And I think we should get the full experience before we decide whether or not we want to forget it happened.”
She smiled. “You know, I’ve never been attracted to Herculean men before.”
“Good to know. So Seth was a wimp?”
“Seth was…very forgettable.”
“And you were going to marry him?”
She cocked her head. “Can we stop talking about my ex-fiancé, please?”
“Yes, ma’am.” He leaned in and kissed her.
“Hmm. That is better without the tequila.”
He picked her up. “I’ve got so much more to show you.”
She smiled. “I saw some of what you’ve got this morning.”
“Impressive, right?”
“Don’t be a conceited bastard.”
“Sorry.” He started walking to the bedroom. “I’m really glad Steve didn’t pick up the bed today.”
“We would’ve figured something out.”
He laughed. “Who are you and what have you done with my best buddy, Skittles?”

Jade was laying with her head on Sawyer’s chest. “Well, my goodness.”
“You can say that again.”
“My goodness.”
He laughed and kissed the top of her head. “I think a better description would be holy shit.”
“So, I don’t suppose you’d like to do this again?”
“Right now?”
She smiled. “No. I mean, as an ongoing thing.”
