Drake wearing normal clothes makes my mouth water. But Drake in a tuxedo? He’s breathtaking. The tux he has on was made for him, most likely literally. I can’t keep my eyes off him and Dominic pinches me when he realizes where I’m looking.

Chuckling darkly beside me he says, “Well, well, look who finally made it. Just who I’ve been waiting on.”

I look at him in surprise. Oh what fresh hell is he planning now?

Leading me across the room, he walks slowly, waiting on them to move on from the mayor, I’m assuming. Once they do, he walks us right up to them. Well shit. Is he going to make a big scene? He has kept me hidden from the world for a year but tonight we are meeting everyone and walking right up to the Bianchi’s?

“Hello, Gio. Anthony, Drake,” Dominic smirks. “I thought I would bring my lovely wife over to meet you, but I forgot, you actually already know each other right?”

Drake is furious. He takes a step toward Dominic but Gio pulls him back with a shake of his head. My eyes are ping ponging back and forth between the men. My heart drops when I realize what he’s doing. He’s making a big show of introducing me to everyoneto make things harder for them to try to get me back now that I’m being allowed out into public.

Fucking asshole. I look at Drake, my heart in my eyes and try to convey to him what I’m feeling. He looks away. Anthony grabs his arm and they walk away, leaving Gio behind.

Gio looks at Dominic and says, “You think you’re in charge but it isn’t your time yet, you better watch what you’re doing or you might find yourself in a situation you can’t get out of. Your father doesn’t like people who don’t know their place and I can’t imagine it would be much different just because it’s you.”

Dominic growls and lunges at him but Gio steps away and joins Drake and Anthony, laughing all the way across the room to them.

Grabbing my arm even harder, Dominic practically drags me back to our table. “They think they can just talk to me any old way they want to? I’ll show them. Gio won’t be laughing like that when he finds out what I have in store for them. I will ruin them.”

“What are you talking about?” I ask.

“Sit there and look pretty. Stay out of things that aren’t your business,” he says with a sneer.

As the silent auction starts, everyone finds their seats. The Bianchi’s are in full view from where I sit. I try to make eye contact with Drake, but he won’t look at me. Anthony sends me a small smile, but then, he too, looks away.

Freedom looks so far away and it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting any help from Drake. It’s almost as if he just doesn’t care anymore. Which hurts more than I thought it would considering I didn’t really give him a chance when I was there. Not that we really had time for it. But I always had doubts he was really in love with me because he didn’t really know me.

It looks like I may have been right. I’ll have to come up with something on my own.

DRAKE

My hands are shaking like crazy. It’s taking everything I have not to go rip that mother fucker’s head right off his body. I can’t even look at Elodie. She looks lost, hurt, skinnier than I have ever seen her, there are shadows under her eyes, and her hair is dull, not the shiny chestnut brown I’m used to seeing.

She’s a shadow of herself. She never even looked that bad with her parents.

Dominic was gripping her elbow so tightly I’m sure she will have bruises later.

I’m going to kill him.

The smirk on his face worries me for my dad and brother. But I know they know how to handle guys like him.

El is looking at me like I’ve broken her heart. I’m sure she thinks I’ve written her off because I won’t look at her. But it hurts too bad.

Whatever happens, I have to get her out of there, and soon.

DOMINIC

I see Elodie looking at Drake like a kicked puppy. He will be the first one I kill, for thinking he could have her when she has always been mine. Ever since her parents sold her to me when she was ten.

I’ll kill her myself before I ever let her make her way back to them.

Aiden has switched sides, and Gio doesn’t even know it. It’s going to be so sweet when he realizes he has been betrayed by one of those closest to him. The Bianchi’s have always been against the skin trade, and now, it’s going to be happening right under their own noses, in their own warehouse.

Elodie has a big role to play in it as well. Just thinking about it makes me excited, in more ways than one.

Smirking, I adjust myself and then turn to watch the auction.
