Standing stoically not too far from Dad’s side as he chats toPaolo and Dom, it doesn’t surprise me that Blaze’s attention is focused solely on me, but he looks annoyed, irritated even. That’s when I see a hand snaking up his arm to his shoulder and across to his chest.
Tammy.
That weaselly bitch.
I thought we’d formed some sort of friendship when I visited the store she works at. Clearly, it was just at surface level. Probably to get closer to Blaze.
I feel the blood heating in my veins, and my nostrils flare. I excuse myself from the group. My vision tunnels in on the fake-tanned, blonde Barbie wannabe, who is pushing her fake tits into the side of my man.
She’s fucking brave. I’ll give her that.
Barreling over to them, I don’t make my presence known until I’m right behind her. She is totally unaware that Blaze’s attention is on me. When I’m right behind her, he raises his eyebrows in amusement, silently asking me what he should do.
I know he said he wasn’t going to ruin my night in any way, but this bitch? I should have known better than to invite her with the way she was toward him at the store. She’s not even being subtle with her advances.
“She’s too innocent. I could do things to you that she wouldn’t even think about,” Tammy says, tracing her finger over his chest and slowly moving it down. “I bet she doesn’t even…”
Oh, hell no.
Not giving her a chance to finish whatever the fuck she was about to say or do to Blaze, I grab a handful of the hair at the back of her head and yank her head around to face me.
She shrieks like a banshee, “Let go of me!” Her shrill voice is like nails down a chalkboard, and she tries to claw at my hand in her hair.
I sense Dad’s conversation has stopped and feel him watchingme, waiting to see what I’ll do.
Leaning my face in close to hers, I spit, “I honestly thought you would have got the memo by now that this man is mine. Which to you, and every other basic bitch like you, means hands off.”
Her face goes pale, even under the thick layer of makeup.
“I was being nice, giving you an invite for tonight. And you went and threw it in my face by trying to get in bed with my man?” I hiss, our faces are so close I can see the physical cracks in her mask.
“I wasn’t, I swear. I wasn’t trying to get him into bed,” she squawks in denial.
“No, she wasn’t—” Blaze pipes up behind her.
“See! I wasn’t. I’d never.” She winces as my grip on her hair tightens.
“She was trying to get me to the bathrooms or the office out back.” Blaze finishes his sentence in an angry, pointed tone.
“If I ever see you near him again, you’ll be walking away from our conversation with more than a broken nose and missing teeth. That’s a promise. Get the fuck out of my bar, you’re never to come back here again,” I spit out, pushing her head away from me.
“You crazy bitch, you have no idea who I have connections to,” she squeals.
This chick obviously doesn’t know who she is in the presence of to be busting out a ridiculous line like that.
“Giving a fuck doesn’t really go with my outfit. Now piss off.”
Tammy takes off with her tail between her legs.
Blaze drops his hands down to his crotch, one hand holding the wrist of the other. I tilt my head in question. He rolls his lips between his teeth, raising his eyebrows, his eyes looking up and finding something particularly fascinating about the ceiling.
“Are you hard right now?” I whisper yell to him incredulously.
I step up to him, grab his hands, and bring them over my head, then spin to give him my ass. I hold his hands in front of me at my chest. To everyone else, it looks as though he is hugging me from behind. And I feel exactly what I thought I would—he’s hard as a rock and pressing into my lower back.
“I can’t help it, Siren. That was so fucking sexy, you claiming me as yours. But even more than that, the idea of you getting violent,” he whispers in my ear before I see Dad out of the corner of my eye, excusing himself from Paolo and Dom, moving closer to us.
Smirking to myself, I drop Blaze’s hands from my shoulders.
