“We all saw it with our own eyes,” Remy rearms. “That shit is not okay for wives to do behind their husband’s backs.”

“She’s not my wife,” I remind him.

“Oh. Shit. Right. Sorry.”

“Even if you weren’t married, you’ve been a couple for over a year. That deserves more respect than...that.” Colt gestures with his hand to the apartment behind us.

“Look, I get that you two are just trying to look out for me and take my side, but you don’t know the full story here.”

“Then what’s the full story?” Colt asks, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Maddie...Maddie wasn’t doing anything with him that I haven’t already done myself.”

Remy and Colt’s eyes momentarily widen as they exchange another wordless look.

“Really?” Colt asks softly. “Like are you all having threesomes or what?”

“It’s…complicated,” I tell him, rather than explain how the man kidnapped me, and shit happened. They’ll think he’s the bad guy, and that he forced me to do those things. That’s not true.

I mean, Eli is a bad guy. I know that. I saw him cut out a man’s eyeball. And it’s not like I developed Stockholm syndrome or whatever. He’s a bad man. An evil monster who gets off on hurting and killing people. Even his own mother thought he was evil when he was just a kid.

But the things we did, he didn’t threaten me or anything like that. I knew what I was doing, and I wanted it.

I wanted to be with another man.

Only the second man in my life, but this time I wanted him.

Yes, Eli can be a manipulative prick, but I loved having his mouth, his hands, his everything on me. He’s gorgeous and dangerous and those two things turned me into a puddle of lust who begged for more.

Even though I’ve had a beautiful woman in my bed every night for a year, I still couldn’t resist the psycho’s charms.

And being angry at Maddie for cheating is a hell of a lot easier than admitting to her that I’m not sure if I’ll ever be completely myself with her. Or if she’ll ever be enough to satisfy all of my needs.

“Fuck, I don’t know what to do,” I admit to Colt and Remy.

“The way I see it we only have two choices here,” Remy says.

“Only two?” Colt asks.

“Only two,” his brother agrees. “We can either send the girl back to Vegas before her mob boss father wages war onRockland and the Savage Kings, or we kill the bastard and pray he hasn’t told her father that he found her here living with us.”

“And if he’s already told her father?” Colt asks while I’m still hung up on the sending her back option.

“Then we’re fucked. He’ll come for her. We all know how shit went down when those dumbasses took Helen of Troy, right? Everyone died. Not to be a bastard, and I hate it for you Jordan, but that girl isn’t worth any of us dying over.”

“So that seems like we only have one option here,” Colt replies. “She’s got to go back home to daddy.”

Remy nods. “She’s got to go home to daddy. We could take it to the table for a vote if that’s what you need, Jordan.”

Since Remy is the MC’s president, he has the most sway with every member. Most are his damn brothers, so I have a feeling how that vote will go. Me against everyone else.

“I get it,” I tell them. “And I don’t want any of you to get hurt because I was too stubborn to do the right thing. Maddie should…go back to Vegas. It’s the best option for everyone.”

Everyone except for me and her.

Why did Eli have to show up and fuck everything up?

“Glad you agree, kid. But now you have to decide whatyouare going to do,” Remy says just as the apartment door opens behind me.
