He gripped her hair and tilted her head back so he could bite the base of her neck. “I need to plant a baby in you.”

“Do it.”

He bit her neck as he pumped into her. God, he wanted nothing more than to see her pregnant, her body becoming full and lush with the continuation of life. He thought it would calm him somewhat, knowing his daughter was on the way, but it hadn’t happened yet. On the other hand, he had no problem seeing to it that Lyla was properly filled with come every chance he had.

He pinched her clit and she convulsed around him. He jerked her to the edge of the desk as he came, grinding into her and pouring all he had inside her. He tipped her head back and loved the glazed, sated look on her face,

“Tell me you love me,” he demanded.

“I love you.”

He kissed her because he couldn’t get enough. Lyla didn’t stop him, even though her lips were swollen and bruised by the time he felt sane.

“Have I ruined you?” he asked, pulling away so he could scan her clothes.

“Completely,” she said with a wicked grin and he smiled back. “But I seem to be presentable.”

Lyla pushed him away and went to the bathroom to fix herself up while he watched.

“You told Blade not to answer his phone,” he guessed as his mind flashed back to his earlier panic.

“Yes.” Lyla turned and wagged her finger at him. “Don’t punish him for that.”

“He doesn’t take orders from you.”

When she stiffened, he inwardly cursed. Her silver blue eyes were flashing and the satisfied look was replaced with anger.

“Excuse me?” she asked in a dangerous voice.

“Your safety is—”

“Not in question,” she said crisply. “We were a few yards from your office or else I would have allowed him to pick up your call.”

“I don’t care how close you are. He isn’t allowed to ignore my call.”

“Gavin, nothing happened.”

“I need to know where you are at all times. I need your security guard to pick up his fucking phone.”

“Blade managed to call you even though he’d been shot five times,” Lyla snapped. “You think he wouldn’t call you if my life was in danger?”

That was true, but it wasn’t the point. If he wanted Lyla to visit him again he had to put this shit to the side. Nothing happened and she wanted to surprise him. He shouldn’t bitch. For now.

“Come here,” he said, holding his hand out to her.

“No.”

Gavin shook his head and went to her. Lyla knocked his hand away, showing him that her sparring sessions with Blade were working. Lyla was becoming quite the little fighter and it aroused him. He never believed that the young innocent he claimed at eighteen would morph into the woman she was today.

Gavin put his hand around her nape and hauled her close. She glared mutinously up at him.

“Thank you for the surprise. I enjoyed it,” he said.

Lyla snorted.

“I won’t punish Blade, but I don’t want you countering my instructions, especially when I nearly had a heart attack when neither of you answered.”

“Fine. I’ll let him tell you a white lie next time.”
