I take the opportunity to go down on one so that when she turns back around, she gasps. "Vaughn, what are you doing?"
"Asking you to marry me. I love you, and I want us to spend the rest of our lives together. I want us to add to our family, and I want you to have my last name. Only if you want all of that, too. Do you?"
There are tears streaming down her face and love bright in her eyes. "I do. I want that more than anything. I love you Vaughn Collins."
With a shout of excitement, I slip the ring on her finger, and then stand up, taking her in my arms. Closing my eyes, I turn us around in a circle, and envision what the rest of our lives is going to look like. Two years ago, I never would have imagined any of this, and it's all because Val had the courage to leave her situation and walk into a bakery.
EPILOGUE TWO
Weston
I'm prepared for a nice cozy day. With the snowfall last night, and the fact that all of the roads are going to be terrible, I'm satisfied with spending the day in the house. I've built a fire, had breakfast, coffee, and now I'm ready to turn on my PS5 and play some video games with the guys.
I put my headset on, queuing up the game. "What's up fuckers?"
"Language." Nolan growls. "You know this child of mine is starting to repeat everything."
"Yeah." Barrett sighs. "So is mine, and he says the worst shit at the worst times, so please keep it clean."
It hits me that our group is growing up. When there used to be only one baby, there's now three, with the possibility of another on the way, but I'm sworn to secrecy over that one. We're just about to get started playing our game, when there's a knock at my door. "Who the fuck is here on a day like this?"
"Watch out, could be a serial killer." Abel snickers. "It'd be the perfect day for it."
"Oh fuck you. Just for that, I'm keeping my head set on, so if I'm taken out, all y'all can hear it."
Heading to the front door, I look out, but can't see anything. Whoever it is, is either short, or in the blind spot. They knock again. "Be there in a second."
"Who is it?" Nolan questions.
"Not sure, I've not opened it yet." There's some sort of sixth-sense that's warning me I might not like what's on the other side.
"Open it..."
I throw the door wide. "Holy fucking shit."
Everyone is asking questions in my ear. "Who is it?"
Looking the woman standing there up and down, I can't believe what I'm saying. "It's my wife..."
