Sheturned and walked inthedirectionof herand Jen’sapartment.

His throatylaugh startled her. “Sohowfarawayisthisapartmentofyours?”

Shebreathedasighofrelief,thankfulhe’ddropped thesubject. “Ithoughtyoualready knew whereIlived,”sheshotback.

“I knowtheaddress,butI’mnewtothiscity. Howmanyblocksawayisit?”
