Aiden
I swooped Nadia up into my arms and carried her across the threshold. “We’ve arrived Mrs. Wilder.”
“Oh my god, it’s breathtaking.” She massaged my neck, kissing my lips.
“It sure is. Sebastian spared no expense. He didn’t have to do this.” I lowered Nadia to her feet.
She smiled over her shoulder as she crossed the room. “He cares about his friend. He respects what you do for this country.”
“I suppose. Sebastian has risked his life for this country too. Hacking for the government over the years.”
“Aiden, there’s an oasis outside our back door.”
I stood behind her taking in the view of the Caribbean Sea. It was a beautiful clear blue.
“Aiden, it’s ten at night. We should skinny dip.”
“Hell, no. And risk someone seeing my wife’s body. No. End of discussion.”
I wrapped my hands around her waist. “Tomorrow, I’d like to watch you, skinny dip in the private pool, right there.” I pointed.
She chuckled. “Sounds good.” Nadia turned in my arms.
“I see you are sobering up. Didn’t think you would be coherent on our wedding night.”
“And miss sliding deep into my wife’s pussy on our wedding night. Not a fucking chance.”
She moaned against my chest.
“Come here.” I tugged her hand and walked over to the king-sized bed positioned next to the dark wood patio shudder doors. Sitting on the bed, I swayed my hands along her curvy hips, gazing into her eyes. Her face was filled with melancholy.
“Nadia, something is wrong? I’ve caught that distant look on your face a few times today.”
Not saying a word, she ran across the room, digging through her luggage.
“Nadia, talk to me.”
She scurried over, hands behind her back, my worried eyes met hers.
“Open your hand.”
I didn’t know what to think. My large palm turned face up. She placed a slender plastic tube in my hand.
“Turn it over.”
I flipped it over and stared at the pink plus sign on the pregnancy test.
My mouth dropped open. “Nadia, we’re having a baby?”
Her hand flew over her mouth, shaking her head. Tears burst forth down her brown cheeks. I pulled her into my lap. “This is great, baby.” I kissed her neck.
“Are you sure? Maybe I should have taken birth control pills. You’ll be away most of my pregnancy.” She dropped her head against mine.
“I know that’s a lot to handle. The thought of you carrying our child makes life so much sweeter.”
“Really?”
