Malaysia

Monday morning, Ethan and I rode together in a Cadillac Escalade. The driver kept with the flow of morning traffic. He sat at arms-length in the back seat. He straightened his navy tie, flattening it against his white dress shirt.

“Why are you wearing a suit? Didn’t you say you have surgery today.”

“Yes. I like to feel sharp and confident when I walk into the hospital before a surgery.”

I smiled. “I get it. Suits usually give people an authoritative rush.”

“I suppose you can look at it from that perspective.”

He leaned into my ear. “How do the satin panties feel against your ass?”

I blushed, gently pressing my knees together and swallowing hard. “Ethan, you didn’t have to go out of your way to purchase ten bra and panty sets for me.”

“It’s ok. When I strip your clothes off, I want you looking good enough to eat.”

I ran my hand over my collarbone. I felt considerably warm for it to be a bitter winter morning.

I peeked at the driver in the rearview mirror who wasn’t paying us any attention.

Ethan instructed I take five pairs home and leave the other five at his condo. I wasn’t going to pretend I didn’t need the new sets. I thanked him. I was grateful.

“The car service will take you to and from work every day.”

“Eth…”

“Don’t try talking me out of it. I pay for this car service around the clock. It’s a service, so sometimes you won’t have the same driver.”

I sat up straight. “But Ethan, I work two jobs. My marketing job is from eight-five Monday through Friday, and four nights a week I work at a club downtown as a waitress…”

His blue eyes stared into mine. “Don’t worry about it, Malaysia.”

The truck came to a halt outside the hospital front doors.

My eyebrows drew together. “Ethan, would it be a bad idea if I brought you lunch every now and then? Just as a thank you. I will drop off the meal and go about my day.”

His face lit up. “Sounds good. Please don’t leave the food with anyone. I’ll meet you in the front lobby. My secretary will text you my remaining schedule for this month.”

I nodded. Ethan’s soft pink lips planted against my cheek.

“Malaysia, have a good day?”

“You too.”

He exited the truck and walked through the hospital revolving doors.

“Ms. Newton, may I have the address of your location?”

“Yes.” I told the driver the address then sat back enjoying the warm ride. I exhaled. No public transportation. No sludging through the snow. This was a beautiful gesture.

Settling into my desk, I stared at my cell while waiting for my desktop computer to boot up. After viewing Ethan’s schedule, I sent my remaining month’s schedule to his secretary. I tried not smiling too hard.

“Girl, I see you!” Tonya peered over the cubical wall.

“You are a naughty hoe!” she yelled in a whisper.
