“For such an amazing time and for being my protector. While I didn’t want you to beat his ass, I get why you did it. Plus, he was sort of asking for it,” I say jokingly, trying to lighten the mood.

“Yeah, he was.”

We laugh softly.

“But seriously, I had an incredible night with you. This entire week, as creepy as it started, was great. I shouldn’t have said those things to you, not in that manner.”

“Hey… Let’s just both agree we’re sorry and move forward.”

“I can handle that.”

He holds out his right hand and says, “Hi, how are you? I’m Jackson Mitchells.”

“Nice to meet you!” I smile sheepishly, accepting his gesture. “I’m Sabrina Rogers.”

“Hi, Sabrina! You know you have a beautiful smile?” he jokes while stepping towards me and playfully hoisters me to the driver’s-side door with his hands on my hips.

“Thank you, yours is pretty nice as well.”

Jackson’s eyes beam bright, and his hands reach my face, cupping my cheeks and guiding us a little closer together. “Oh yeah?” he flirts and kisses me, devouring my tongue and leaving me breathless.

“Um-uh,” I mutter when he lets me up for air. My body seems to melt into his, feeding off the lust and energy he provides.

“So, I have a question for you,” he says, still holding me close.

“What’s that?” I peck his lips.

“May I have the pleasure of taking you on a real first date?”

“I’d love that.”

He kisses me with so much passion, and I know his feelings are true. I have no idea where any of this is going to go. I certainly didn’t expect that a business trip would bring such an experience. And we know I wasn’t looking for anything. But right now, I’m kind of glad I found it.
