“Oh yeah, she told me about her role in your life but nothing about you. Said I’d have to find out for myself. The one thing she did say was that you and I would make a beautiful couple.”
“She got that right at least. You know what she didn’t predict?”
“The weather?”
She laughs, and I shake my head at her corniness.
“No. I bet she didn’t predict that I’d want to marry you and have lots of babies with you and grow old with you. Did she tell you that?”
“No. She didn’t mention that. She also didn’t say that I’d like the same things as you.”
“Oh, really?” I raise my eyebrows when I hear her thoughts on our possible future. I brush her hair behind her ear and cup her face in my hands.
“Mm-hmm. So, what do we do now?”
“What do you want to do?”
She extends on her tiptoes and kisses me softly on my lips. Once, twice, three times, sending my desire for her into overdrive.
“I want to go back to the room and practice making those babies.” She places her hands on my ass and squeezes it gently.
“They do say practice makes perfect.” I take her hand and walk outside to a waiting car where we go put in work on our future.
