I wake and see that it is four-thirty in the afternoon. We’d arrived here at eleven-thirty-ish and succumbed to the powers of sleep around two. In fact, she’s still asleep. I hate to wake her, but we need to get the rest of the things ordered. I plant small but light kisses along the back of her ear and down her neck.
“Kara, wake up, baby.”
“Mmm, baaby? Wow. You jumping awfully soon,” she says, rolling onto her back, her tits uncovered and looking just perfect. “At least let me fix you breakfast first.” She stretches. “What time is it?”
“Four-thirty,” I reply.
“Shit. We need to get the orders in.” She jumps up, cover herself with the bed sheet, and goes to her laptop and starts entering in orders at various vendors and applying discount codes.
I throw on my boxers and take the seat next to her, watching her entries and answering any questions she may have. Truth be told, I’m just stuck on staring at her. She double-checks the orders and inventory control numbers of the product three times before submitting, further impressing me.
“You seem like a pro at this,” I mention.
“I just pay attention to detail. When I read, my mind makes mental notes of key facts. Any project is done based on a scale. So if I can decorate a storefront boutique, I can decorate a five-star hotel resort.” She continues to pound away at the keys, entering and double-checking.
I’m getting email notifications as the orders are processed and approved. I straddle the chair and sit behind her while she finishes placing the orders and wrap her in my arms.
“Damn. You caught me in your web or either cast a spell on me.”
She leans her head back onto me, exposing her neck to my mouth. “Why you say that?”
“I can’t seem to keep my hands off you, for one.”
“What’s the other?”
“I don’t want to be without you. You’re my own little enigma. Mysterious, beautiful, complex, intriguing, and someone I’m going to spend the next four weeks with, taking in all I can.” I tilt her head just so and kiss her. This time, it’s just a kiss. My dick doesn’t react fully, and I know I’m beginning to feel something deeper for her.
“I think I better get dressed so we can go by my house and I can change.”
She escapes my embrace, giving me a feeling of not wanting to be intimate. I shake off my thoughts and respond to her statement.
“Yeah. I’m sure you’re famished. I know I am. You like seafood, right?”
She looks at me with one of those side-eye things I read about in books.
“Baaby, I’m from the NO. Seafood is the only thing we know.”
Message received. She puts her form-fitting yellow dress back on and pulls out a pair of flats from her work bag while I put on a pair of jeans and a nice polo shirt. I remember the party tonight and decide to ask her about the guys.
“So this party we’re going to, how do you know the host?”
“Oh, we went to school together. They were the popular jocks and never paid me any attention. I was the nerdy cheerleader trying to fit in. I had the body the boys wanted, but they wanted the girl with the easy open legs, and that wasn’t me.”
“So, how’d you end up on the guest list?”
“I went to an event a few months ago and saw Stuart. He tried to put his best moves on me, and I shut him down. Just because he’s a doctor doesn’t make him my doctor. He backed down, and at the end of the night, we we’re cool. I designed his house for him, and his brother had me do the same. The rest is history.”
We leave the room, and she brings her work bag with her. She must not be coming back with me, I think to myself.
“Are you not planning on returning?” I ask, pointing to her bag.
“I didn’t know you wanted me to stay,” she replies.
I take the bag from her and drop it inside, leaving a clear indication I want her to spend time with me here. We exit the hotel and walk to my car. I open the door for her and close it after she gets strapped in. I jump in on the driver’s side, and we head to her house so she can change.
We pull up to her house, and her sister comes running out to the car to greet her.
