Hey, bestie!” Ronnie cried out, rushing in the door.

Ronnie Floyd and Sarena had been best friends since their sophomore year in college. They had met in nursing school and had to be lab partners. Ever since then, they had been glued at the hip to each other.

Ronnie was slightly taller than Sarena, with flawless mocha skin and long dark curls flowing down her back.

“Hey, Ronnie!” Sarena screamed and hugged her bestie. She laughed at the fact they were acting like they hadn’t seen each other in days. No, they had just seen each other yesterday at work.

Sarena shut the door, and her friend moved into her home.

“Any updates?” Ronnie asked, throwing her purse on the couch and plopping down next to it. Her dark-brown eyes were wide as she waited to hear about Marcas.

It had been a few days since Sarena had woken up and put her clothes on to make the short walk of shame home after their non-date dinner. Due to him getting called out, they hadn’t had to go through with the awkward ‘morning after a one-night stand’ routine.

“No.” She shook her head and took a seat on the other end of the couch. She had confided in her friend about the night of passion she’d had with Marcas. “I’m really not expecting much.”

“But if the chemistry is what you say it was, how can he just ignore it?” Ronnie sat back flabbergasted. She was a huge fan of romance and happy ever afters.

Sarena smiled at her gullible friend.

“This isn’t one of those romance novels you read, Ronnie.” She shook her head at the look of hope on Ronnie’s face. “Not everyone has a happy ever after.”

“But you could! Have you called him?”

“Ronnie, he said he didn’t do dating or relationships. I knew what I was going into when I went over to his place.” She shrugged, thinking of her last few nights at home. She didn’t know what he had done to her but she found herself wanting him even more. He filled her every thought.

She just couldn’t get him out of her mind. Even now, her core pulsed with the memory of the feel of his cock stretching her walls when he’d thrust deep inside her. The feel of his hard body posed over her had chills sliding down her body. She was officially going through withdrawal. One night with Marcas MacArthur, and she was addicted. She craved another hit of his expertise tongue and thick cock.

She’d heard his motorcycle at all times of the night the last few days as he came and went. It took everything she had not to go to the window and try to catch a glimpse of him.

Even if she tried to be discreet, he would see her looking for him. She didn’t want to appear desperate. If he wanted her, he would come for her.

“And you’re just all right with this?” Ronnie’s frustration was apparent on her face, and she stared at Sarena.

Was she okay with it? Not really, but she’d rather have one night with Marcas than nothing. She didn’t regret their sole night together.

“I’m not going to be the desperate woman chasing him down. Believe me, I’d like nothing more than to walk over there and bang on the door and demand he fuck me again.” She laughed, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

She paused at the way Ronnie’s eyes lit up.

“Oh no! There is no way in hell I can do that.” She shook her head just as the sound of Marcas’s motorcycle roared through the night, announcing he was home.

“Yes, you are! You are going to go over there in something sexy and you’re going to get laid again tonight!” Ronnie shot off the couch and grabbed Sarena’s hand. Her friend dragged her up the stairs and pushed her toward her bedroom.

“Ronnie, you are crazy. I can’t just show up at the man’s house and demand he take me, like one of the heroines in your books.”

Ronnie pushed her into the room when Sarena tried to stall.

“If it works in the books, then it will work for you. How can he resist a hot babe like yourself?”

Her stomach fluttered just thinking of what could happen. But what if he only wanted her once? Doubt crept up in her mind, and she sat on the edge of her bed while Ronnie rummaged around in her drawers.

“But, Ronnie, what if the chemistry was just one-sided? What if I just imagined it? You’re right. If it was there, wouldn’t he have come for me again?” She bit her lip, her imagination running wild with the ‘what ifs’. Self-doubt blossomed in her chest. What if their night together was the itch to his scratch and he was done with her?

“Don’t you start doubting yourself, Sarena Rucker,” Ronnie threatened and disappeared in Sarena’s closet. “He should be grateful that you felt compelled to give him your cookie!”

Sarena snorted and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Felt compelled? She’d practically forced it down his throat.

Literally.
