The sound of Marrok’s footsteps echoed behind me, causing my heart to pound violently in my chest.

Adrenaline and fear fueled me as I screamed for help.

“Help, someone!” I screamed as I ran.

I kicked off my heels and dodged between broken cars in the street to try and lose him. But there wasn’t a single soul around this abandoned area of town.

He clamped a hand over my mouth, and Marrok’s voice hissed in my ear. “Do you really think you’re faster than an alpha? I’m the predator, and you’re the prey, my love.”

He started dragging me down one of the dark alleyways. I couldn’t believe this was fucking happening again. Blood was rushing to my head in my panic as I tried to bite his hand.

His grip was ironclad, not letting up no matter how hard I tried to fight him.

Marrok opened a filthy door to a random building and pulledme up the rickety stairs. The smell of cigarette smoke and rotten flesh filled my nostrils.

My stomach churned with disgust and terror.

“Stop fighting,” he growled, unlocking another door and dragging me into a trash-filled apartment. He didn’t release his grip on me until he forced me onto a stained bed.

I kicked at him while lying on my back, aiming for his balls, but he was too slim and fast.

“Let me go!” I screamed.

“Bad omega,” he snarled, grabbing each of my ankles and tying them to the bedposts using ropes he had lying around. He took my right wrist, binding me to the headboard.

“You don’t have to be like this,” I pleaded out of breath, my heart pounding hard with fear. This was all going wrong, and I didn’t know I would end up dying this way.

Now spreadeagled on the bed, I was utterly terrified. This wasn’t how my wedding day was supposed to have gone.

“You’ve forced me to do this,” he said, inspecting my ring finger and shaking his head when he saw that the ring he gave me was gone. I had gotten rid of it the first chance I got.

“Stop this, Marrok,” I begged, tears streaming down my face. “I told your dad everything, and I can’t believe he didn’t do anything about you!”

His eyes blazed with fury as he yanked up my wedding dress and aggressively ripped off my stockings. I regretted telling him that because that set off his rage. He was so quick to get angry.

“Why the fuck did you talk to him?!” he shouted. My legs were exposed now, and I tried to fight against the rope bonds, but it was impossible. “He already thinks I’m a disappointment. He doesn’t need to know what I do in my free time. I’m a grown alpha.”

“Help!” I screamed, thrashing against my constraints.

“No one will hear you, my love,” said Marrok, gazing upon me. Suddenly, his mood shifted as he watched me struggling. “I really missed you. Don’t be scared of me, Ruby.”

“But Iamscared,” I said, flinching when he traced his hand across my leg. Every inch of my skin that he touched felt like branded iron. I despised him.

“Such a pretty wedding dress,” crooned Marrok. “The most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen.”

Suddenly, we heard footsteps on the metal staircase leading up to the apartment. The footsteps were loud, and I filled my chest with air, screaming like a banshee.

Marrok quickly stuffed a foul-smelling rag into my mouth.

The footsteps hurried up the rest of the way, and Marrok ran to hide next to the doorway. He grabbed a hammer from the dusty ground and stood there, ready to ambush whoever approached.

My heart raced, wanting to warn the person who was coming. The room was quiet as we waited for whoever it was to enter the room and meet their fate to Marrok’s hammer.

“Ruby, is that you?” said a familiar voice, and I wanted to cry. Wayne approached the door, his eyes widening when he saw me. I shook my head frantically, trying to warn him.

He entered the room without hesitation.

Marrok struck Wayne on the head with the hammer, and Wayne crumpled to the ground with a sickening thump. I let out a muffled scream of horror, my eyes wide with terror.
