“Fuck,” said Markus from behind, placing his lips on my shoulder.

“Don’t bite me,” I yelped. The nurse’s disclaimer forms flashed across my vision.

“I want to mark you so bad. I’m at the edge now,” said Markus, his teeth grazing my skin as he climaxed. I shut my eyes tight, hoping he wouldn’t mark me, and he didn’t. Lio was staring into my face when he ejaculated at the same time. I looked back into his eyes, knowing we wouldn’t have this connection again.

“Lana…I,” started Lio, and I held my breath, worried about what he’d say next.

“Yes?”

Both their cocks started swelling, and my breathing accelerated.

I was nervous being stretched even farther. But they rolled me between them in my cozy nest of blankets to get into a more comfortable position.

“I was going to say that I have feelings for you, Lana,” said Lio. “I know I’ve said it before.”

I didn’t know what to think. Markus rubbed my back, his large hand splayed across my skin, warming me. My heat was over, and this last knotting ensured I wouldn’t be in pain at all. I only felt a few twinges this morning but nothing serious.

“Lio, I don’t know,” I said, trying to catch my breath. I felt their warm bodies press me in between while my pussy and ass were full of cock. “I’m not ready for a relationship yet. I’m sorry, Lio.”

“I understand,” he whispered, brushing a strand of hair from my eyes. “It was against protocol for me to even say that. I’m the one who should be sorry. You came in as a vulnerable omega in heat, and I shouldn’t take advantage of the after-knotting glow.”

I smiled at his choice of words, reveling at the touch of his palm on my cheek. It all just felt so comfortable and warm. Then I closed my eyes, just to feel this moment forever. To know what having a pack felt like.

I didn’t realize I had fallen asleep until Lio tapped me awake. Both Markus and Lio’s knots had deflated, releasing my body. Owen was nowhere to be found in the room.

“Oh, sorry,” I said, stretching between them. I was sore all over, but it was a good kind of sore.

I would remember this day for the rest of my life.

And I would remember James risking his life for me. I hadn’t had time to process it all during my stay here at the clinic, but I would write everything down in my diary to never forget what happened and how I ended up at the heat clinic for the first time in my life.

“I have something for you to look at,” said Lio, pulling his phone out.

“Sure,” I said.

“Lio, it’s not important,” said Markus but Lio didn’t listen as he pulled up a video. I rolled onto my stomach to see. He pressed play on the grainy video. It was surveillance footage of the clinic’s grounds.

My heart stopped when I saw a familiar figure. A pale figure with no clothes holding me limp in his arms as he dropped me off at the clinic's entrance. My eyes widened, and my heart pained to see James run away with no hope in his life. Unable to live with his people or mine.

“You’re getting emotional,” observed Lio, dabbing a tissue on my face as tears rolled down.

I didn’t think seeing James on camera like that would affect me. He had affected me more than anyone I ever met and he had real true feelings for me that couldn’t be faked.

“No, I’m not,” I said quickly, looking away. “It’s just horrible to see myself in that way. Frail and weak. It was the most horrible day of my life.”

“So do you remember what happened to you?”

“No,” I said, realizing my mistake. “It just looks terrible.”

“Don’t lie to me, Lana,” he said in a softer voice.

I swallowed, still looking away from him so he couldn’t see how hard this was for me.

“I’m not comfortable sharing right now,” I said.

“Alright,” he said with shortness in his tone. He sat up, stuffing his phone in the pocket of his spandex. “I’m sorry I brought it up as a friend and as someone who cares about you. Clearly you don’t care.”

“I do care,” I protested, but he stood up and walked to the door. Why was he acting like this?I didn’t expect him to get so upset just because I wasn’t telling him everything.
