“Me too,” she breathes out. “So much.”
“You okay?” I ask. “I’m not hurting you?”
She smiles, shaking her head. “God no, feels so good.”
Smiling, I close the distance, kissing her again as I start to move, pulling out before easing inside her again. I keep my movements slow, savoring this moment with her, knowing that all these days and nights of being together are going to stop for a bit if I have to leave.
I know what it’s like to go without Lis and even though this time is going to be different, I will miss being with her so fucking bad. We were inseparable and insatiable as teenagers and nothing about that has changed since we got back together.
I don’t know if it’s us making up for lost time or if it’s just the insane chemistry we’ve always shared, but I can never get enough of this woman. She turns me on like nothing else. It’s actually kind of amazing it’s taken this long for me to get her pregnant considering how much sex we’ve had, not just this time around, but when we were younger too.
“Nick,” she moans now, her hands moving to my ass, pushing me into her as though she wants it deeper.
I up my tempo a little, thrusting long and deep, my heart pounding in my chest as I watch her beneath me, trying to memorize this moment so I can take it with me. I’m so fucking close, but I want her to come with me.
Dropping a hand between us, my fingers find her clit, stroking her as I continue to push inside her. Lis opens her eyes now and our gazes lock, the two of us lost in each other as we get closer and closer to the edge.
When she starts to clench around me, it’s enough to push me over, the two of us coming hard together.
“Fuck,” I murmur, dropping my head to her shoulder as I bury my face against her neck. Elissa wraps her arms around me, holding me close as my body covers hers. I keep her with me as I roll us to the side and kiss her slow and deep. “That was so fucking good.”
She smiles. “It’s always good with us.”
“I know,” I reply, chuckling. “But I don’t know, that felt like good, good. Really fucking good.”
Lis laughs. “Maybe it really is the hormones.”
“If that’s the case, you’re gonna be pregnant for like the rest of your life, babe,” I tease, sneaking a hand down to her ass. “Because I love you like this.”
“What about when I get fat?” she asks, smiling up at me.
I scoff. “You won’t be fat, you’ll be cooking our little bun in your oven, and you’ll be fucking beautiful.”
“Hmmm,” she replies, rolling her eyes a little. “We’ll see.”
“I’m serious,” I tell her, brushing the hair back from her face. “I can’t wait to see you like that.”
Elissa smiles now, a smirk teasing her mouth as she says, “Who would have thought you’d be such a softie with all this baby stuff.”
Laughing, I give her a hard kiss. “I know it was a shit thing to say, but I really do think it’s different when it’s your own kid,” I say, remembering the stupid comment I made to Max when I first met Sammie. “Everything feels different.”
“Yeah,” she says, pushing me onto my back as she rolls her body onto mine. “It really does. I already love this baby and it’s not even here yet.”
I push her hair back, my hands cupping her face as I stare up at her. “I love you and this baby, and that’s why I think we should get married.”
“What?” Lis blurts out, a shocked look on her face.
I laugh, leaning up to give her a quick kiss. “We should get married,” I repeat. “Before the baby comes.”
“Why, you worried people will talk?” she asks, narrowing her brow, a smirk on her face.
“Please,” I scoff. “People always talk, and I couldn’t give a shit about that. I want to marry you because I love you and our baby, and I want us to be a family.”
Lis smiles, dropping her forehead to mine. “We’re already a family,” she whispers.
“I know,” I tell her, knowing that a piece of paper won’t change that, even if it is what I want.
I reach over to the nightstand, opening the drawer and pulling out the ring box I put there when I first came back. It’s something I’ve had for so long, but something I never got the chance to give her the first time I wanted to do this.
