“It’s okay to like stuff but it’s okay to be nervous. It’s okay to want special time but it’s okay to go slow.” Yes. “And…and I like bottles too if I don’t have to hold them.”

That was not fun.

Daddy chuckled. “Your face.”

My face was scrunchy.

“Daddy holds the bottles if we need those, but I didn’t buy any because I don’t think we need those.” Daddy shrugged. “I have my own.”

Oops.

“Don’t fall.” Daddy was fast and caught me. “It wasn’t that funny.”

It was.

Dally was going to laugh too.

“You…your…Daddy…” My laughs made Daddy laugh.

“Okay, it was slightly funny.” Daddy shook his head. “Silly goose.”

Daddy was a funny goose, but he was a funny goose who needed cuddles for being brave. So I snuggled into him and petted his chest. “You did a good job, Daddy. You were brave.”

Daddy sighed. “You weren’t supposed to know I was nervous.”

Hmm.

“Sorry.” Kind of. “I’m smart too about that kind of stuff.”

And so was Dally.

“I think you’re smart about a lot of stuff, but yes, talking about it in this way isn’t easy for me.” Daddy kissed my head and snuggled me tighter. “But I’m not going to hide from something you’re very excited about.”

“It’s okay for me to be excited and you to be nervous. That happens a lot in special relationships.” Daddies could be nervous. Littles could be nervous. Subs could be nervous. “I can be excited for both of us.”

“I’m excited too.” Daddy sounded like he believed that but I wiggled. He wasn’t excited. “Silly goose. Don’t distract me.”

Now he was almost excited.

“I was making sure.” He seemed like his excitement came and went and came again. “I like cuddling with you and playing, Daddy. Especially if you let me win. We could watch movies or do stuff.”

We could do stuff.

I liked stuff.

“Besides nursing from Daddy, what kind of other stuff do you like?” That made me give Daddy a look and he huffed. “I’m notgoing to avoid it just because it makes me nervous. I don’t avoid other things because they make me nervous.”

Daddy liked being brave.

“I don’t like heights but I still learned to climb because I wasn’t going to let it beat me.” Daddy looked like he wanted to pout. “There’s nothing wrong with wanting to take care of my little boy.”

“But we don’t have to rush.” Rushing caused potty problems and we didn’t want that. “We can talk about it.”

Yes, that wouldn’t betoobrave.

Daddy was going to make himself be brave and end up with a tummy ache if he wasn’t careful. Spending all night on the potty wouldn’t make for a good date.

Even Dally knew that.
