Chapter 12

Emma holds up a bright orange bikini with a thong bottom. “What about this one?”

I screw up my face and shake my head. “Too revealing.”

We are shopping for beachwear for my trip to wherever Foster is taking me. The past week has been heaven. Foster is highly skilled in bed, and since that first afternoon, we had sex, we make love every day. I crave him all the time, and something as little as the scent of his cologne can flood my core. I can now say I’m deeply in love with my husband.

“But sexy,” she insists. “I can’t believe he won’t tell you where you’re going.”

“He said it’s a surprise. I’ll just have to trust him.”

“Or, you could snoop.”

My jaw drops open. “I couldn’t do that! Would you snoop on Jordan?”

“No, but he’s predictable at times.”

“Does that bother you?”

Emma smiles. “Not at all. I love everything about him.”

“Same here.”

“You love everything about Jordan?”

I giggle. “I love everything about Foster.”

“We should all go out sometime. Maybe Rory and Hunter would like to join us.”

I flip through a rack of barely-there-bikinis. “A couples’ date?”

“Wouldn’t it be fun? I miss the basic stuff. We should go camping too!”

I wrinkle my nose. “You have the wrong girl. I’m not sure Foster would be interested either.”

“Why? Doesn’t he like to get his hands dirty?”

I smirk. “More than you know.”

Emma rolls her eyes, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder. “Seriously? We’re not talking about sex.”

“Foster is domestic. He likes to cook and clean. I’m not sure how gung-ho he would be about camping.”

“Rory might nix the idea, though I could be wrong. Are you excited about your vacation?”

I nod because I haven’t told Emma the trip is a second honeymoon. “I can’t wait to get to the beach. This spring has been too cold for my liking.”

“Maybe by the time you come back, it will be warm.” Emma pulls a silver bikini from the rack, holding it up for me to see. “What about this?”

I smile. It would be out of the ordinary for me, but so was my life right now. “I like it. I’m going to try it on.”

Half an hour and two thousand dollars later, I walk away with five bikinis, two colorful sarongs, a large straw hat, and a giant pink and white striped canvas beach bag. I hope Foster won’t be angry that I spent so much.

“Lunch?” Emma asks.

“I could spare another couple of hours. Foster won’t be back from the office until about three.”

Emma rolls her eyes. “Jordan does the same thing. I finally put a foot in his ass and told him to take some time off today. He’s playing golf in Westchester with his brother, Nicky.”
