“It does, it always has.”

I pull away and grab a washcloth from the cabinet next to the sink. Wetting it, I gently cleanse her sex clean then myself. I help her down from the vanity and pick her panties from the floor, stuffing them in my pocket.

“I need those.”

“Your dress is long enough. I need something of yours until you’re back in my bed.”

“I should get back to the suite because Declan will be home soon. I don’t want him to suspect anything.”

I’m disappointed because I wanted to spend more time with her, but this needs to be kept secret. If Declan suspects she’s seeing me, then it could be dangerous for her. He’s already working on destroying my company.

“Be careful. If anything were to happen to you, I would be heartbroken.”

“I’ll be fine. He’s controlling but not violent.”

“I’m still allowed to worry.”

She kisses me passionately, and I hold her tightly in my arms, not wanting to let go. I can’t wait until she’s all mine again. I watch her walk out the door and sit in my chair, hoping that we’ll be together soon.

Chapter 15

It’s been a couple of days since I saw Jordan. Today, I’m on my way to his office to meet with the person that is going to help us take Declan down. I’m curious as to who would want to go up against him. I walk into the Ballard Building and take the elevator up to Jordan’s. His assistant, Celia, announces me.

When I walk in, there’s a dark-haired man in his twenties sitting on the couch, he looks familiar, but I can’t place him. After Celia closes the door, Jordan introduces him.

“Zane Butler, I want you to meet D. Graham Blair Junior.”

I raise my eyebrows in surprise and shake the hand that he offers.

“Call me, Graham.”

“Uh, isn’t this a conflict of interest. You’re Declan’s son.”

“I hate the son of a bitch. He cheated on my mother, and he’s just an all-around scumbag.”

I had to agree, and to see a family member hate Declan so much was almost enjoyable.

“I know Graham from Yale.”

“So how does this help me?”

“Graham, do you want to tell him or should I?”

“Please let me. I would love to take that bastard down. He deserves it,” Graham says.

“Excuse me, but aren’t you worried about retribution?” I ask.

“Not in the least. My grandfather gave me my wealth, not my father. I don’t need to worry about him pulling away my trust fund. It’s was never his to give.”

“So, how does this work?”

“The company, D. G. Software, that’s going after you is one in which the shares are divided among the Blair family members. My father has several companies, so they all can’t be taken down at once, but this one will make a sizeable dent. And I’m sure when news gets out about his duplicity, his reputation will be tarnished beyond repair in the business community, at least that’s what I hope.”

I smile because I think I’m beginning to understand.

“My mother owns thirty percent of the company, my father forty-five, me fifteen, and the rest are split between my younger siblings. I’m not quite sure why he distributed the shares in this manner, but he did. His thinking at the time was that we would never turn on him. Over the past few years, he’s tried to manipulate his children; I included into turning over the shares. I have not, and neither have my siblings.”

“So, if you want to take over the company, you have the shares, and he can’t do anything about it?”
