“Are we alone?” I groan out.

Noah turns and looks. “Everyone went back downstairs after they dragged your drunk ass up here.”

“I texted Olivia. She wants me to leave her alone.”

“So you’re going to drown your shit in liquor? What the fuck Luc?”

“It’s been years since I did this. The way I feel, I’m not going to do it again. I wish I could go to her. For all I know, she’s picking up some guy at a bar.”

“Maybe. Rory told me that the ladies were going out tonight to a few bars that Jordan owns. He set them up with a limo and VIP bottle service all over the city. She might meet someone.”

“You’re not fucking helping.”

“I’m sorry, but I’m disappointed in you. Why would you do this? Deal with her like an adult. You should have told her the truth.”

“Keep stating the obvious.” Another wave of vomit comes up, and I duck my head into the bowl.

“I didn’t know anyone could throw up that much. You better drink something.”

“That’s how I got this way,” I protest, coughing.

“No. I mean water, Gatorade, anything because you’re going to need hydration.”

He leaves me and comes back with a bottle of water while I’m rinsing out my mouth. I take a swig of it, and it cools my tortured throat.

“I think I’m done for the night.”

“The night hasn’t even started.” He gestures to the windows. The sun is just beginning to sink in the sky.

“Well, whatever time it is, I’m finished. All I want to do is sleep. Tell the guys that I’m sick.”

“You sure?”

“Positive. I’m going to lie down and watch some television.”

He shakes his head as he walks towards the suite door. After I hear it close, I dig out a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, change, and slip under the covers of the king-sized bed I’m sharing with Noah. I feel horrible, and even though I’ve probably thrown up most of the liquor I consumed, I am still dizzy. I take another slug of water and put my head on the pillow.

After drifting off, I have vivid dreams about Cassie, except this one is different. Instead of the accusatory skin and bones nightmare, she’s accepting and encouraging. She tells me how she’s happy that I found someone that will treat me well and that I deserve it after what I went through with her. The last thing I recall is Cassie telling me she’ll always be with me.

I wake up to the sound of glass breaking, followed by laughter, then a thud. I glance at my cell, which I left on the bedside table; it’s two in the morning. I slept most of the night away. After rolling off the bed, I pad into the main room. Chase is holding a towel on Matty’s hand, handling the situation with ease. I forgot that he’s a doctor.

“What happened?” I question.

“Well looks like sleeping beauty finally woke up. You missed a hell of a night, bro,” Hunter says, his voice rising with each word. It sounds like he’s drunk.

“Sorry, I was sick. Is Matty going to be alright?”

“Yeah, he just got a little cut. I told you not to pick up that glass. That’s what we have butler service for.”

“I just got some pictures from the ladies. Do you guys want to see?” JC speaks up.

We all crowd around his cell as he scrolls through the pictures Lexi sent. My stomach turns when I see a photo of Olivia dancing with a tall, blonde-haired man. She had her arms around his neck and was smiling at him.

“Olivia looks like she’s having a good time,” Chase says.

Matty comments, “Finally. I keep telling my sister she needs to get moving and find a husband. She ain’t getting any younger.”

“That’s a horrible thing to say about your sister,” JC scolds.
