Geez, can’t he be home for fifteen minutes without her calling? Noah goes toward his office, but I can hear him laughing. He never laughs this much with me. I decide to take a quick shower, and when I get out, I can still hear him talking to Vivian.
I’m making a pot of coffee when Lucian knocks at the loft door. It’s nearly 1:00 PM. The smile on his face and his just fucked hair are answer enough for what he did last night. I don’t want to ask anyway because we’re talking about my sister.
“How are you?”
“In love.”
“Luc, be serious.”
“I am. Your sister bewitched me.”
“And what are your plans?” I hope Megan doesn’t break his heart because before Jeremy, she could be flaky with guys.
“We’re seeing each other for the time being.”
“Is it exclusive?”
“I didn’t discuss it with you.”
“Do me a favor? Don’t tell Noah.”
“I hadn’t planned on it until it gets more serious.”
“Tell me what?”
We both turn to see Noah coming out of his office.
“That he’s leaving in a little while. If you want to spend some time with him, you better do it now.”
“When did you get home?” Lucian asks.
“About an hour or so ago. Rory was fine, and I wanted to get back. Vivian was upset about the accident. The car is totaled so I’m going to get Rory a new car.”
“Noah, does that make sense? She’ll be living in New York soon.” I said.
“She needs a car for the rest of the summer and when she goes back and forth from here to Boston. I’m not going to say no to her. I promised I would get her a new one.”
“Okay, it’s your decision.”
“Yes, it is.”
He turns and heads back to his office. Lucian looks at me and mouths, “what the fuck is his problem?” I shrug because I’m not really sure and head back to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. I’m put off by Noah’s behavior and tone.
Lucian comes to say goodbye twenty minutes later. I wish he was staying because we spent so little time together. Plus, I need a buffer between Noah and me. I have a feeling that tonight will not go well after the exchange we just had.
“I’m coming down next weekend. Megan and I have dinner. She also asked me to help her move.”
I almost spit my coffee across the counter because she also asked Hunter, and I’m sure that little get together is going to be interesting. I don’t think that Hunter was thrilled that Lucian got Megan over him. I think I definitely want to be there to see the dynamic.
“Are you staying with us?”
“More than likely, if you don’t mind unless I stay with Megan.”
I’m sure he’ll be staying with my sister rather than us. He goes to Noah’s office to tell him goodbye, and I hear them arguing. They both stalk into the living room.
“What’s going on?”
“Lucian told me that he’s coming to the city next weekend to help Megan move.”
