Her chin trembled as she nodded. “Yes,” she almost whispered.

“I’ll clear out all this shit. The whole fucking house. Whatever space they need, they got.” Malaysia laughed, and it turned into a squeal when I picked her up and kissed all over her face. “You pregnant?”

“Are you really surprised? You never pull out, and you basically told me this was going to happen.”

“Yeah but… knowing that it actually happened...” I set the bouquet on the table so I could hold her fully. “You know I’m going to take care of y’all, right? You won’t have to want for anything. I’m here with you every step of the way. Thank you, bae.”

“You’re welc—mm…”

I ate her moans as we kissed. Setting her on top of the table, I allowed my hands to slide under her gown. She shuddered against me as I palmed her breasts.

“Is it sore?” I checked.

“A little, but don’t stop. I haven’t felt you since you made it home two days ago. Two whole days, bae.”

“I’m sorry for making you wait. I had some shit I had to take care of.”

“But you’re good now?”

“Oh… I’m more than good. I’m back home with you, and you’re having my baby. I am more than good.”

A Week Later

“The amount of business you send Rebecca Joy is ridiculous,” I teased, watching Blaze slide into my car. He was accompanying me to Rose Valley Hills to meet with Neko. Apparently, Neko was big in the art community down there. He’d been recommended to me by Cheyanne, and I wanted Karrington to come along as well. I hadn’t told Karrington what this impromptu road trip was going to be about out of fear that he’d use his age as an excuse as to why he couldn’t go after his dream.

The rest of the guys, Merc, Asylum, Beethoven, and Bully were waiting at Merc’s home to go with us in the Sprinter. What was supposed to be a quick work trip, I was sure, would end with us in Vegas turning up.

“She loves that shit.”

“I bet, because she’s just as crazy as you.”

It was one thing for Rebecca Joy to be a cleanup woman, but it was altogether different for her to get as much pleasure as she did out of cleaning crime scenes. Legend has it, what started as her working as a housekeeper for a wealthy mafia family turned into her cleaning up all their messes—the bloody ones included. I was curious about her and wanted to talk to her more, but her services were in such high demand I only saw her in passing.

“Either way… every time I get to see her fine ass it’s a win. One of these days, I’ma get her to pull up for this dick.”

I released a bark of laughter and quickly covered it with my hand. “Oh, okay. Good luck with that, bruh.” He stared at the side of my face so intensely I was unable to hold my laughter in. “What!”

“I feel like you’re insinuating I can’t get the girl.”

“I’m not trying to insinuate anything; I’m saying it straight up. Rebecca Joy is…” My head shook as I looked over at him briefly. “I can’t handle both of y’alls crazy. Leave that girl alone.”

“You act like Malaysia is—”

“Don’t talk about my wife.”

He sucked his teeth, crossed his arms over his chest, and looked out of the window. “I’ma get Rebecca Joy.”

“I don’t doubt you can get her; I’m concerned about you keeping her.” My voice turned into a low tenor when I added, “She’s not the kind of woman you can play with, Blaze. The woman can kill you and get away with it. I’ve never killed a woman and I don’t want to have to start now. Leave her ass alone.”

With all the muttering he did under his breath, he didn’t direct any of those slurs to me. I was cool with that. He could have his little attitude, but I meant what I said. Blaze and Rebecca Joy linking up would be like gas and a torch, and I was not trying to deal with that.

Valentine’s Day

Aspen had thought of everything. For Valentine’s Day, he took me on a romantic, sunset hot air balloon ride. We’d spent the first start of the day lounging and being pampered at my favorite resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. When he originally planned this trip for Valentine’s Day, he didn’t know I was pregnant. He had three days full of action-packed fun planned. However, my body was demanding chill, relaxation, and rest. Aspen adjusted with no problems, and we were having an amazing time.
