I didn’t have to ask what he was referring to. With his crew—Asylum, Merc, Beethoven, and Bully—his fumble of a woman was what they all clowned him for. Working with Merc got me the inside scoop. Apparently, Karrington was in the streets tough. He was given an ultimatum by Luna Ray, and he didn’t choose her. In his youthful pride, he figured if they were meant to be, they would be. That she would wait. That she would preserve herself and her heart and wait for him to live the life he wanted and get it out of his system.

That wasn’t the case. Eventually, Luna Ray got married and had a son with someone that wasn’t him, and Karrington had been regretting it ever since… especially since he’d just finished tying up loose ends to leave the game. After that, he moved to Massie Manor to focus on helping his family with their farming, ranching, and land.

“I didn’t go after my dreams. Now I’m teaching people how to do it instead.” The bitter scoff he released sent a pang to my heart. “I let my lifestyle, my youth rob me of the woman of my dreams. I was supposed to be taking Luna Ray to see the seven wonders of the world before we had kids. I was supposed to make millions off my art and change urban culture in the process. Instead, I’m fucking…” His head shook and brows raised. “Rounding up cows and pigs and running a damn petting zoo.”

“It’s never too late,” I said, squeezing his shoulder. “You old but not too old.” He smiled like I hoped he would. “You might not be able to have Lulu, but you can have everything else.”

His head bobbed, but he didn’t acknowledge what I’d said either way. I made up in my mind, at that moment, to spend every Wednesday night, when my classes started, making sure he understood that even if he’d given up on his dreams… himself… I hadn’t.

The Next Morning

“Shit, bae.” My voice was groggy as I grabbed a handful of Malay’s hair. I loved when she woke me up with my dick down her throat. Malaysia didn’t just suck dick—she put on a fucking show. My eyes fluttered and opened so I could see. She winked and smiled before taking all nine and a half inches of me down her throat. My stomach clenched as she pulled up and tightened her cheeks around me.

With a groan, I relaxed against the bed. Her mouth was wet, her wrists were working, and her throat was wide. She had the perfect tongue to throat ratio, and the shit drove me insane. My toes curled as she spit on my shit before twisting her hands around it and taking my balls into her mouth. When she popped them out and hid me in her throat, that was it. I warned her that I was about to cum before she swallowed my seeds.

“Fuck!” I growled, switching our positions and laying her flat on the bed.

I watched as she played with her pussy underneath me. When I couldn’t take it anymore, I pulled her fingers out and licked them clean before pressing my way into her and connecting her lips with mine. She broke our kiss to whimper against my lips as I gave her long, hard, deep strokes. Strokes that started slow and increased in speed the longer I stayed inside of her.

Her cumming turned into her squirting because when I found her spot… I stayed on it until she begged for mercy. I pulled out and turned her over to enter her from behind. She fucked me back, pushing that rippling ass against me and giving me something other than how good she felt wrapped around me to focus on. Gripping her hips, I moaned and bit down on my bottom lip as my chest caved. I slipped my thumb into her ass and held it still—that shit was always an automatic detonator on her climax. Two strokes later, she was tightening around me and cumming like I knew she would, and I was grateful because I came shortly after.

Mid-January

Enjell and Dejvi were finally in their new home. I threw them a housewarming party, and it was a success. I was so happy my sister was living this version of life—she was doing what she loved with the man she loved. My parents were healthy, happy, and thriving. In August, I’d be back in school… but for now… I was thoroughly enjoying working for Aspen and doing my bouquets. Already, I was booked for Valentine’s Day for flowers, candy, and money bouquets.

There wasn’t a thing about my life that I would change. The bond I had with Aspen grew stronger day by day. We’d settled into a comfortable routine. He was getting ready for a traveling security contract, and it would be the first time we’d be apart for more than a few days. Even though he offered to fly me out, I didn’t want to be a distraction. Besides, I was looking forward to how we would handle each other after spending some time apart. There was no set end date for his travel, but he’d warned me that it would be at least two weeks.

As Aspen wrapped his arms around me, I smiled. He kissed my neck and hummed against my ear.

“Are you okay with our home?”

I turned in his arms to face him. “Hmm?”

“Are you okay with our home? Being here got me to thinking. This place is the perfect mix of them both. Do we need something like that? I kind of just… plucked you and put you in my shit. Do you want to change anything about it?”

“Well, aren’t you considerate,” I said through my chuckle. “I love your home. I love the acres. The space. I would never ask you to move for me, but it would be nice if I could add my touch. It’s very dark, simple, and all… bachelor-y. It needs softness and color, but I won’t go overboard.”

“The fact that you said you won’t go overboard makes me feel like you will.”

“I promise I won’t,” I assured him as we shared a quiet laugh. “And it won’t be a lot. I have my room and the greenhouse. There really isn’t… oh! Can we get a pool? You already have a gym set up in the second garage. If we have a pool, I can cancel my membership since I only use it to swim now.”

“Yeah, we can do a pool. It’ll be in by spring. Anything else?”

“Hmm… I’ll think about it, but I feel like that’s it.”

“Aight, just let me know.”

He gave me a quick kiss before walking away. I took in his wide frame, his swagger… his aura. The way he came over and showed his sweet, considerate side and left like it was nothing. I truly loved this man, and I couldn’t wait to see what all was in store for our future.

The Morning Before His Trip

I was tired. My energy was low. My mood was crap. My man was getting ready to leave me, and even though I was excited about the break, I was missing him already. He insisted we grab breakfast together before he left, so I got up and got dressed even though all I wanted to do was rest. Instead of taking me back home, he drove to the storefront suites where Enjell’s kitchen was going to be. She was going to still do meal prep and catering but allow people to come and get plates of whatever was on her menu for that week.

“What are we doing here?” I asked as he cut off the car. “Does sissy need help with an event and I forgot?”
