“Well, if it’s going to lead me closer to finding the one, I should probably make sure to not pass up you two, right?” I shrug.

“You can just ignore her, we don’t need to do any of this,” Summer holds up her hands.

“Is this party turning into an orgy?” Luke asks just as Sloane shushes him.

“I’ll go first,” Sloane says as she walks around the corner and comes to stand right in front of me. She winks, then leans up and presses her lips against mine. The kiss holds but doesn’t deepen. A second later, she pulls back.

“Such a shame, you’re husband material,” Sloane shakes her head. “Okay, Summer, it’s your turn.”

“We really don’t have to,” she says to me.

“One kiss, that’s all,” Sloane says.

“When is it my turn? I haven’t met my person yet,” Luke says.

“Luke, I don’t think you’re ready to meet your person,” Sloane says.

“And why is that?” he crosses his arms and asks.

“I don’t think that you are ready to find out that I am your person,” Sloane smirks. “But maybe we should give Summer and Shaw some privacy for their kiss?”

“Why, we didn’t give you any privacy, and that kiss was quick.” Luke defends.

“I think it’s just something that we should do,” Sloane shrugs.

“Fuck it, you don’t have to go anywhere,” Summer steps around the counter, comes to stand in front of me and gives me a chaste kiss on the lips.

“Na uh! That doesn’t count, you need to give it a chance, let it marinate,” Luke says.

“Agreed, I think we need to give this a shot,” I add.

“Oh God, not you too?” Summer puts her hands on her hips.

“It’s for science,” I grin widely. My stomach is doing flips in the anticipation of kissing Summer.

She sighs loudly and I look at her, giving her puppy dog eyes.

“You’re giving into silly drunk games, you realize that, right?” Summer whispers leaning into me with her hands on her hips.

“We’ll chalk it up to being drunk,” I shrug with a smile.

“Are you drunk?” she asks.

“I’ll never tell,” I lean in and whisper back.

“I’ve never seen anyone debate over whether or not to kiss as much as you, Summer. Just get on with it,” Sloane says.

“Alright, for science,” Summer steps forward again.

We are standing toe to toe; I place my hand nervously on her waist and pull her toward me. I lean my head down as she angles her head up. My lips cover her warm lips as her hands rest on my hips. I can feel her fingertips digging into my skin as she opens her mouth, my tongue slides in and explores hers. I suddenly have an awareness of my heartbeat as Summer’s body relaxes into mine.

She kisses me back, fiercely. Our kiss deepens and I’m swept away in the moment. I’m not sure how long I stood there kissing Summer, my best friend in my kitchen, but I’m not caring at this moment. From the way that Summer is lost to the kiss, just as I am, I’m pretty sure that neither is she.

Luke clears his throat from behind us, disrupting our moment, and as we pull away from the magnetic moment I feel a need to pull her back into my arms.

Summer wipes her lips and looks up at me. Her eyes focus on mine and she blushes.

“I think I need to change my panties,” Sloane says, breaking the moment.

“Yeah, that was super hot, I felt like I shouldn’t have been watching,” Luke says.

I wish that they weren’t either. Perhaps we wouldn’t have stopped kissing.

Now, she is looking everywhere but at me.

Summer hiccups and covers her mouth in embarrassment.

“So, that was pretty hot, I mean wow,” Sloane says from behind me.

“Sure as shit was,” Luke agrees, “in fact, I think I’ve got a slight chub from watching that. I kind of feel like a voyeur and that was something that I shouldn’t have seen, but I’m damn glad that I did.”
