“I think happy hour should be a thing tonight, maybe you can invite John?” Shane asks.

“I can ask him, but I’m not going to guarantee anything. He usually works much later than we do.”

“Tell him that we would love to finally meet him, now that we know about him.” Olivia says.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. A girl’s allowed to have some secrets,” I wink.

“Secrets shouldn’t be hiding people that you’re banging.” Shane says.

“Let’s sneak out of here a little early today,” I suggest.

I’m feeling a little underwhelmed from that meeting. I saw questioning looks from the editors who were in the room, the clincher was when the woman I’ve been reporting to, didn’t even know who I was.

Do I not stand out enough as an employee?
