Chapter Ten

I feel hungover, but last night we didn’t drink.

My body feels tight and sore in places I wasn’t even aware that I had a muscle. I’ve never felt this way after sex, but last night wasn’t just a one-time thing. No, we stayed up until the wee hours making up for all the nights that we left one another with the need.

We got a few hours of sleep, before Quinn woke me up with his fingers and his mouth caressing my pussy. We eventually got out of bed, showered, then ate a quick breakfast.

We took the train downtown together and separated before reaching the building. We shared a long kiss on the side of a building column before I went across the street to get coffee.

I touch my lips as I stand in line before ordering and smile as I think back to the past twelve hours.

Never in my life have I felt the all-consuming need for another person, but I feel that way now. While we have become close over the past few weeks of the beginning of us dating, I feel like we’ve taken another step to become even closer and can’t wait to be back in his arms again.

I walk onto the floor and basically float all the way to my desk. Shane and Olivia are standing snacking on something close to my desk. They take one look at me and are in front of me in an instant.

“What?” I look to them as I put my coffee down on the coaster on my desk.

“There’s something different about you,” Shane looks at me, points at my face then my body.

“Um, I am tired and needed extra espresso in my coffee, does that count? You know, lack of sleep?”

“Why are you tired?” Olivia looks at me suspiciously.

“Oh, my goodness, did you get laid? You finally took Steph up on one of those dating sites, didn’t you?” Shane whisper shouts.

“She has been a little peppier in her step lately, you have to be dating. Tell us all about him?” Olivia demands.

“Guys, nothing is different,” I lie, “I’m just tired. I stayed up late binge watching some show about witches and werewolves on Netflix. Steph had a guy over, and it was like he would never leave.

“Bullshit!” Shane covers his mouth and fake coughs.

I take a deep breath and look at my two friends. “You guys are jumping to conclusions. I won’t use Steph’s tactics to find a date.”

“Who are you dating?” Quinn’s deep voice from behind me asks.

“Oh, hi Mr. Montgomery. Good morning. How are you?” Shane asks.

“I’m good, I’m good.” He says, then turns his attention to me. “Can I speak to you for a second?”

“Um, yes?” I reply with a question. I look over to my friends and widen my eyes to emphasize a confusion to them.

“Don’t worry guys, she’ll be back in a bit.” Quinn grins.

I walk beside him until we get to his office, where he promptly closes the door, presses me up against it and presses himself into me. I feel his erection against my leg as he kisses me hard. I kiss him back just as fiercely, because the need to be close to him is there for me too. Then after a moment, he backs away.

“Fuck, I don’t know how I’m going to be able to hide wanting you.” He says leaning his forehead against mine. “Now that I’ve had you, you’ve awoken a dangerous animal.”

With my hands on his arms, I breathe him in.

“We need to be careful,” I remind him.

“I know, I know. I was walking over to the kitchen for some of that shitty coffee and I saw you. My dick got hard and I needed to have you,” he confesses.

“Remember, not at work.”

“Not at work, got it.” He gives me two thumbs up.

“It wouldn’t look good for me, if people found out that I was fucking the new boss, at least not right now.”
