“I do actually, I have a membership and I like to go in the early mornings when they open to avoid the hot of the day and some of the crowds. If you get a chance, go for it.”

“I’ll have to check it out sometime. I’m trying to get out more, now that I’m back in California.”

“Ain’t no better place to do that than the City of Angels.” I say suddenly feeling like a tour guide.

“One more question, since you mentioned botanical gardens, what’s your favorite flower?”

“I like the simple daisy, while I like exotic plants and beautiful flowers, I always feel that the daisy is underrated.”

He smiles and writes something down on a post-it beside his keyboard.

“Thank you, I hope that I’m not being too intrusive. I’m a naturally curious person. But I figure after the other night, it wouldn’t be too inappropriate.”

I return his smile and stand up.

“If it’s alright with you, I have a few things to tend to before leaving today.”

“By all means, I wouldn’t want to keep you. Thank you and thank you for the suggestions.”

“Anytime.”

I leave his office, feeling less worried than when I walked in there, however still unsure as to whether or not my drunken blubbering will be something that he will hold against me.
