Dimitri smirks. “How are our brothers enjoying babysitting?”

I shoot him a glare as I walk over to the bar cart and pour us each a glass of bourbon.

“She’ll give them a run for their money, that’s for sure.”

“Any word from Emilio?” Feliks asks.

I pick up the four tumblers and set them down on the glass table between the two couches. Taking a seat beside Anton, I lean back into the plush leather, crossing an ankle over a knee.

“Not since the wedding.”

Feliks frowns. “Are you worried?”

His dark blonde hair is hidden beneath a backwards cap, and he’s dressed in gym gear. The guy is a machine, which is exactly why I keep him around. He may be pushing two-hundred and fifty pounds, but he’s fast on his feet and has a wicked aim.

“Not yet.” I take a long swig of my drink. “But we’re not here to discuss Emilio. I want to talk about Mario Gilanto.”

Dimitri nods. “Still no word on that anonymous tip.”

I tighten my hold on my glass, trying to keep my anger under control.

“That’s not what I wanted to hear.”

Anton leans forward. “I say we strike Gilanto first.”

I glance sidelong at my cousin.

He’s the same age as Mikhail, and has also inherited the sharp angular features of the Koslov’s, though his hair is a lighter brown and his eyes are a deep hazel.

Dimitri looks into his glass. “We think he’s trying to get a rise out of us with this email he sent about Ricci.”

Anton shrugs. “Perhaps. But wouldn’t it be better to strike first, to be the one in control of the attack, rather than waiting around to see if he makes a move?”

I swirl the bourbon in my glass as my eyes go to my brother. “I agree with Anton. We strike first. But this time, we do whatever it takes to take out Mario. Get someone on the inside, find his weak link. There’s always one.”

Dimitri nods. “I’ll get Mikhail on it too.”

“Do whatever you have to. Give them whatever they want in exchange. Money, protection, I don’t care.”

“On it.”

“Anton, I want you to have eyes on Gilanto at all times. If he does a shit, I want to know about it. Understand?”

Anton nods.

Feliks sighs. “This is going to be an ugly fight.”

I nod. “This life comes with a high price.”

BIANCA

I didn’t think that sex with Alexei could get any better, but I’m more than happy to be proved wrong.

After our conversation where we both admitted our feelings toward one another, not only has the sex become even more intense but so has everything else.

I’m finding myself craving the time spent in my studio with him as he shares stories about him and his brothers while I paint. It feels easy, comfortable.
