“So just tell me.” I slammed my hands on my hips. “If they are dead, I need to know, Atlas. You can’t keep their deaths from me forever. I will find out even—“
“They’re not dead.” He cut me off with a chuckle and pulled me into him. “They are not dead… They are alive, more than that.” He kissed the top of my head, breathing me in.
“Then why haven’t you told me where they are? What Derek, Marcus, and Dean did with them?” I asked, pressing my face into his chest.
“Because I—”
A phone started ringing, and Atlas paused. I looked up at him, and he smiled down at me, his handsome dimples in full view. I listened to the ringing and realized it was coming from my phone.
Atlas pulled my phone from his pocket and placed it in my hand, stepping back and away from me as I looked down at the lock screen. I let out an audible gasp, and tears began pooling in my eyes as I covered my mouth with my hand.
I looked up from the phone’s screen to Atlas, and he gestured.
“Are you going to answer it?”
I choked and nodded, hitting the green answer button on the screen.
“Madison…” I breathed.
