ENZO

“Well, that went better than expected,” I murmur against Gabriella’s ear, nibbling it lightly.

She giggles and pulls away. “That tickles!” We’re holding hands and walking back to my car which is parked right in front of the hotel entrance.

“Wait’ll I get you alone,” I warn her with a wicked grin.

“How is it that Enzo Rossi can park wherever he wants in this city and never get ticketed or towed?”

I send her a smirk as I discreetly hand the valet a crisp one-hundred dollar bill. It’s the second one-hundred dollar bill I’ve given the guy. “Because I tip the right people very well.”

“Very well indeed,” she remarks and arches her brow. “Do you have something against parking garages?”

“Nope. Just walking.”

She throws her head back and laughs. “You’re really something, you know that?”

I press a kiss to her lips then reach around her body and open the car door. “Get inside, my beautiful fiancée. We have things to do.”

Once she’s situated, I close the door and walk around, slipping into the driver’s seat.

“So…what’s next?” she asks, turning in her seat to face me.

“I thought we made that pretty clear when I asked you to marry me and you said yes.”

“I mean, what’s next now? We have a lot to decide, don’t you think?”

“Honey, as long as we’re together, that’s all that’s important. But, in the meantime, I think we should head straight over to the jewelry store and find you the largest diamond that money can buy.”

Her eyes go comically wide. “I don’t need the biggest diamond, Enzo. I just need you.”

“I’m glad to hear it. But, yes, honey, you’re getting the biggest and the best that money can buy because you deserve it. You deserve all the good things and I’m going to make sure you have them because I love you. I love you so damn much it hurts.”

“Enzo…” She lays a hand along the side of my face and smiles. “Same.”

Our mouths collide, hot and hungry, and I need to force myself to break it off before things go too far. Breathing hard, I put the car in drive and try to ignore the throbbing in my pants. Later, buddy. Right now, I have an engagement ring to buy. I want every man to see that ring on her finger and to know, without a doubt, that she belongs to me.

I drive us over to a small, locally-owned jewelry shop run by an enormous Italian man who greets us with a jovial smile the moment we walk through the door. “Has another Rossi man fallen?” he asks and chuckles.

Alfonso Cirillo has provided all of the engagement rings and wedding bands for my family. First Miceli fell, then Vin and now me. It feels surreal. At the same time, nothing has ever felt so right.

“I’d like you to meet Gabriella Bianche, soon to be Gabriella Rossi. Bri, this is Alfonso Cirillo.”

“Hello,” she says and they shake hands.

“You Rossi men sure know where to find the most beautiful women,” Alfonso states.

“Yes, we do,” I say and press a kiss to Gabriella’s temple. “Okay, I need a ring for my lovely fiancée, Alfonso. What have you got?”

Alfonso guides us over to a counter and we peruse over the rings. They’re all very nice, but I’m not looking for nice. I want perfect. I need something that represents our love.

“They’re all lovely,” she says, leaning over the glass and studying them.

I can tell nothing grabs her. They all look the same. “We need something more unique,” I tell Alfonso.

Alfonso nods knowingly. “I may have just the thing. Hang on, I’ll be right back.”
