"So now I'm ready for you to leave," I say with a small smile.

"What?" She blinks at me.

"I mean, I couldn't have you leaving thinking I was an average lover. But now I think we both know that I warrant A+."

"Are you frigging kidding me?" Her jaw drops and I shake my head.

"No, but you said you don't want to get breakfast with me, and I'm kind of hungry. So unless you change your mind…"

She stares at me for a couple of seconds and rolls her eyes. "You know what?"

"What?" I say, snarking.

"Nothing." She jumps out of the bed, glaring at me as her hair swings back and forth. She ties it up into a bun on top of her head while I stare at her naked breasts, then she points at me. "This was a one-off. I just want you to know that."

"Okay," I say, smiling. "Technically, it's a two-off, but I'll take it."

"Ugh, you're so frustrating."

"And hot, right?" I wink at her, but she just rolls her eyes. I jump up out of the bed and pull her into me and wrap my arms around her, holding her body close to mine.

"What are you doing?"

"I just wanted you to know that even though this was a one or two-off, I still had fun." I give her a kiss on the forehead. "However."

"However what?" she says.

"I just want to ensure that we both know on Monday morning that when I ask you to do the work that you're paid to do, that you do it. And don't expect for me to go easy on you now that we've knocked one out."

"Knocked two out," she says with a little twitch of her lips. I grin.

"It was fun, you know?"

"I know," she says. "It was fun for me too. But that doesn't mean anything between us is different. I still think you're an asshole."

"As you should," I say. "I still want you to know that you shouldn't expect for our relationship to become anything like Max's and Lila's."

"Oh, don't worry, Kingston. That's the last thing on Earth I would ever want. You're not that good of a lover."

Chapter Seventeen

Skye

"Why on Earth would you say that, Skye?" Elisabetta shakes her head as she gazes at me.

I stuff another spoonful of Frosted Flakes into my mouth and just shake my head, "Because I could see the way he looked at me when he woke up. There was shock and worry." I grab the milk and pour some more into the bowl. "And I didn't want him to think that I was some loser who thought that it meant something just because we had sex one time."

"But you told the guy you were looking at engagement rings."

"It was a joke. Sue me. Okay, maybe I'm not going to be a comedian."

"That is a very bad joke to pull on a guy that you know is a commitaphobe. I mean, I don't know he's a commitaphobe, but..."

"I know. Anyway, am I crazy?"

Elisabetta just looks at me. "Do you want the truth or..."

"Of course I want the truth."
