"They're not even together anymore." I stare at him. "You didn't know that?"
"I'm going to be honest with you here, Skye. I've heard of them but I literally could not tell you anything about them."
"What? You don't know Harry Styles?"
"Harry who?"
"Harry Styles, the dude from One Direction?"
"Prince Harry was in One Direction?" He looks shocked. "I mean I knew him and the royal family fell out, but I didn't realize it was because he was in a boy band."
"No, silly. Not Prince Harry. Harry Styles. He's an actor as well. He's been in some movies."
"Okay, if you say so."
"You really are a man's man, aren't you?"
"I guess so," he says.
"But wait, you said that you used to love to do karaoke and you used to want to be in a band."
"A rock band," he says, chuckling. "Not a boy band, but yeah, I did. I used to write songs and everything."
"You did?" I stare at him in surprise. "Like song songs?"
"What other kind of songs are there?" His eyes crinkle and he stares at me.
"Can you sing one to me?"
"What? One of my songs?"
"Yeah, one of your songs."
He groans. "I am not as drunk as you. I don’t know that I have it in me to sing any songs right now.”
"Come on. I've been singing to you all night."
"True. You have been, haven't you, Madonna?"
"Don't remind me. I know I cannot sing like Madonna."
"I mean, it doesn't matter though because you're prettier than her."
"Don't let her hear you say that."
"I would let her hear me if she was around," he says, touching the tip of my nose. "Okay, I will sing you part of one of my favorite songs from when I was seventeen."
"Oh, yippee," I say, clapping my hands, then I pause for a moment. "This is super weird, isn't it?"
"What?" He says.
"You and me here in your bed discussing songs you sang as a teenager."
"Why is it super weird?"
"Because we were literally just arguing the other day and you're my boss and..."
"Stop questioning everything, Skye. You know, in life, things just happen. You got to go with the flow."
