“I know the feeling.”

I released his dick and cupped his jaw. I studied his handsome face and his piercing blue eyes seemed to study me right back. I wanted to press kisses to every single freckle and tell him how I thought he was beautiful.

He was smart, kind, funny, sexy, and selfless. By Malibu’s standards, Ciaran Galbraith was a fucking unicorn.

And he was in my arms.

I was never going to let him go.

His kisses turned romantic, gentle, like he was trying to tell me something without actually saying the words.

The tender expression on my face had to make it obvious how I felt about him. Ciaran had snuck in and changed the axis of my life.

Even if we never did anything sexual ever again, it wouldn’t change the impact he’d had on me. My dad was right: I’d gladly hand over the knife so Ciaran could own a piece of my heart.

All of a sudden, my newfound emotions felt too big to stay contained in my mind.

“I love you, Ciaran,” I said simply as I stared into his eyes. He blinked in surprise and I watched as drops of water clung to his long eyelashes. “I’m head over heels for you. I’ve never felt this way before and I don’t even know what comes next and I don’t expect the same declaration from you. I just…” I let out an uneven breath. “I just wanted you to know.”

“You’re…you’re in love with me?”

“I know it’s sudden, and we’ve had a crazy night, and I know we should probably define our relationship first, but I don’t want to withhold my feelings.”

“I can’t believe this is happening,” Ciaran whispered.

“Ciaran.” I rubbed the back of my neck. The water was getting cold so I turned it off. My heart pounded in my chest. “Will you be my boyfriend?”

His instant smile cracked my chest right open.

“Yes,” Ciaran said. I had no idea I was shaking until his arms went around my neck and he added, “I’ll be your boyfriend.”

Was I actually dreaming?

Matthias Vaulteneau loved me.

The night was full of surprises, I thought as we dried each other with fluffy white towels. Considering we kept pawing at each other and kissing, we did a terrible job of actually drying off.

“The sheets will take care of the rest,” Matty said with a lopsided grin.

I’d never seen him smile so much. Didn’t know he had that many teeth.

Standing naked before me, he was so goddamn sexy, and I allowed my gaze to feast on the muscles rippling on his back, the way his thick thighs moved like a dream. His tight, pert swimmer’s ass was a thing of beauty. The paparazzi’s obsession with Matty made sense. He was photogenic from every goddamn angle.

“Come on.” Grabbing my hand, he led us past a large walk-in closet and into the ginormous primary bedroom, and flicked on a table lamp that cast a soft light over the space.

The exotic flower scent followed us and the glowing clock displayed that it was close to three in the morning.

Though, standing on the top of the world in this penthouse apartment, time meant nothing. I was going to remind him that I was supposed to choose our bedroom, but it was connected to the bathroom, which made it convenient.

The bedroom was darkly furnished, with marbled wallpapered walls, thick crown molding, and a large balconied window and sliding door that overlooked the Strip.

A king-size bed took up one wall. Nightstands were placed on either side of the bed, with two tall mirrors hung overhead. It made the room look larger.

A long, slim credenza near the balcony contained framed pictures of the Vaulteneau family. Two tall vases with long-stemmed exotic flowers bookended the surface. That explained the bedroom’s lovely fragrance. A vibrant, impressionistic painting of the Las Vegas Strip hung above the credenza.
