“I thought he was selling this shit at the end of every month,” said Rory.

“Take pictures. We’re going to use this to show how he’s lied to them.”

The men took photo after photo of the massive space. At the back of the warehouse, there was a false wall which pushed to the side. Behind it were more than two dozen cars. Cadillacs, Mercedes, Audis, Lamborghinis, Land Rovers. All just sitting there collecting dust.

“Charlie was really planning on ruling the world,” frowned Tailor.

“Come on, we’ll let the D.A. team take all of this. Let’s head to the other one and see what we find,” said Alec.

At the opposite end of a private runway at Hartsfield was a smaller warehouse with the same alarm system. When they opened the doors, they nearly choked. Kilos of drugs, illegal weapons, homemade weapons, bombs, and cash. More cash than they’d ever seen in their lives.

“He wasn’t stashing this shit in banks. He was just locking it up for himself,” said Rory. “This dude has some serious issues.”

“Photos,” said Alec. “Lots and lots of photos. If the crowd doesn’t kill him tomorrow, the department will.”

“We’ve found two more warehouses with the same,” said Billy. “We’re heading over there to empty them. If, for some reason, he comes to these tomorrow, he’s going to be surprised. I doubt he will. He’s cocky enough to think everything is just fine, and he’ll plan to head to his rally.”

“Poor bastard. He’s going to have a rude awakening,” said Rory.

“Hey!” yelled Tailor from the back of the warehouse. “Hey, come look at this.”

Everyone moved toward the big man standing next to a massive storage rack. There were plastic storage bins filled with objects. He pulled one down.

“What is this?” asked Alec.

“It’s case files,” said Tailor. “I think he stole case files from every man on his team to keep them under his thumb. Look, this one is for that guy Carey Evers. It was a case involving a jewelry store robbery. Millions in diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and watches were missing. Except this little bag.”

Tailor pulled out three Rolexes, a few diamond rings, pearl necklace and earrings, and a few other objects.

“He was setting them all up,” said Billy. “What a bastard!”

“He is that. Get photos of it all,” said Tailor. “We’re going to put on quite the presentation in the morning. Everyone, make sure to put their makeup on. We wanna look professional.”

“Makeup?” frowned Billy. Tailor laughed, slapping his back.

“Just kiddin’, Billy boy, just kiddin’.”

CHAPTER THIRTY

“You know, it would have been helpful to know the feds had someone on the inside of all this,” said Nine, staring at Patricia. She smiled at him, nodding.

“I know. I’m sorry I couldn’t get to you sooner, but there was just a lot happening at once. I’m glad you got Agatha away for a while. I know for a fact they were planning to get to her. She was asking a lot of questions.”

“What brought the feds in on this?” asked Ghost.

“APD. They’re not all bad. There are a few whistleblowers who called for help, along with the D.A. We’re slow on a lot of things, but this one we knew we needed to get to. It was suspected that he’d raped and killed a half-dozen young girls, but no one could ever put him near them. It was just a suspicion.”

“We know of one for sure,” growled Ian. The woman nodded, looking down at the file in her hands.

“Listen, everyone was a little slow to catch on to what he was doing,” said Patti. “The men we arrested are willing to sing for their supper if that supper is outside of jail. There’s no way we can offer that to all of them. Some of these guys have committed multiple murders, robberies, drug offenses, you name it. They were involved in everything.”

“Where is the police chief in all this?” asked Nine.

“He’s on the list for sure. We think he was aware but looked the other way. Gates had a woman that he lied to and told that he was married. She was from a very wealthy, influential family out of Mumbai, India. They started making a big stink with the embassy, calling in favors from everyone they knew. It made a bigger impact than they thought. The president was listening.”

“That’s what I call an impact,” said Gaspar. “Our team is gathering all the evidence and putting together a nice little presentation for the APD at 0500. We’ve got your team in Atlanta and the D.A.’s team getting to the most lethal of the people who were going to be at the rally and riot.”

“We’ll stop it. I’ve been asked by the president to remind all of you that this could expose you further. I know that’s a sore spot for all of you,” said Patricia.
