“Mia is glad you took a chance on her.” My sister, Mia, is a former collegiate basketball player with ambitions to go pro. However, her aspirations were nixed after a nasty knee injury took her out of the game.
Now, she teaches dance while studying sports psychology. Devin is the first pro football player she’s worked with, and the results were phenomenal. Granted, he started out as one of our top weapons due to his speed, but Mia has turned him into a monster.
“I would recommend anyone do it.” He crosses his arms over his chest, making his biceps flex. The move is unintentional but impressive, nonetheless. “But I know most of the guys aren’t secure enough in their masculinity to try it out.”
Veronica steps up to him, and his arms instantly unlace and draw her to him. She lays her head on his chest. “Thankfully, you’re a secure male.”
“Yes, I am.” He leers at her and kisses her on the lips.
Gunner growls and marches off as their embrace intensifies. Yeah, it’s getting kind of hot and awkward standing here.
The doorbell rings. Saylor. My heart skips a beat as Isabella rushes to the door. When she steps inside the house, my mouth drops. Her hair is shorter and dances above her shoulders, accentuating her slender neck and the soft angle of her jawline.
When she removes the knee-length black coat, I fight the urge to clutch my chest. The dress she’s wearing is snug in all the right places. As she turns, the hemline brushes against the flesh above her knees, and the trim waistline accentuates her curves. She’s stunning.
Her gaze catches mine, and she licks her lips. She returns her attention to Isabella as if she’s nervous. The smoky eyeshadow and mascara leave her eyes looking sultry but not flashy. The pout of her bottom lip begs for my mouth to suck it deep between my lips and devour it.
She hands Isabella the bag, and I walk toward her. I couldn’t stop if someone made me. She’s like a magnet pulling me toward her–whether I want to or not. Except, I’m eagerly participating.
