“Then you buy them,” I snapped, turning to face him. “Oh, that’s right. You probably don’t have the money for that. Well, when you do have the money, I’ll let you buy as many dresses as you want. Until then, it’s still my decision, and I’m saying no.”

I slid my sunglasses on my face and left the shop. My arms were empty and my retail therapy was essentially ruined, but I felt better than ever having put Brock back in his box.

BROCK

I nodded at George as we stepped out of the shop. He immediately walked around to Wren’s side of the car and let her in. When he started to close the door, I grabbed it and nodded for him to go back to the driver’s side.

I slid inside, ignoring the glare from Wren.

“What are you doing? You don’t sit in back with me.”

“Actually, that’s precisely where I sit.”

She huffed, leaning forward in her seat. “George, will you please tell Mr. Patton that I do not want anyone sitting in back with me?”

“I’m sorry, Ms. Your father told me to do whatever they asked.”

“You’re my driver,” she snapped.

“And I’m your close protection agent. I can’t help you if I can’t get to you.”

She spun and glared at me. “And picking out clothes for me is keeping me safe?”

“I was with you the whole time.”

“I can’t believe this. You’ve ruined my day!”

“I’m terribly sorry about that,” I said sarcastically. “When I signed up for this job, I was really hoping to make your days enjoyable.” I leaned forward. “George, take us home.”

“Yes, sir.”

I sat back in my seat and did my best to focus on our surroundings. I knew Edu was behind me somewhere, keeping an eye from a distance. So far, I hadn’t seen anyone suspicious hanging around, but we hadn’t been gone that long.

“You know, I understand that you may have a certain…attraction to me,” Wren started, pursing her lips.

I hit the button to raise the divider between the front seat and the back. Wren looked startled, like I was going to attack her in the back seat. I leaned in close and lowered my voice.

“Wren, you are…an amazingly beautiful woman. Yes, I am attracted to you. When I saw you in that dress…” I let out a low growl, remembering how insane her tits looked. “I wouldn’t mind seeing that again.” I brought my finger up to her face, trailing it down her cheek as I grabbed a small swirl of hair that escaped from her updo. “You have no idea what that did to me.”

Her breath hitched as she stared at my lips. I knew what she wanted, but that would only get me in trouble. Not to mention, she would regret it and instantly blame me for any attraction on her part. I wasn’t interested in being a toy she played with.

“What…what did it do to you?”

I smirked at her. “It made me…absolutely certain that you are the coldest woman I’ve ever met,” I said, sitting back in my seat. “I’m really very impressed. It’s not often you meet a woman who has absolutely no feeling inside her.”

“What? I have feelings!”

“I’m sure you do, somewhere in that dark cavern you call a heart.”

She huffed at me. “Is this about the comment about you not being able to afford the dress? Because I wasn’t being mean. I was pointing out the differences between us.”

“Frankly, I don’t care what you were trying to do. And this has nothing to do with what you said.”

“I am not cold.”

“It’s not a bad thing. You really know how to keep everyone in their place when you can speak to people as if they’re below you.”
