“Hey, come on out.” Ryan smiled. “Whatcha got on, huh?”
“Kitty jammies!” Bonnie jumped out and then did a little dance.
Ryan laughed. “They look nice! Did you say thank you?”
“Uh.” Bonnie blinked. “Oh! Thank you!”
“You are quite welcome,” Ormenus said with a little chuckle.
Bonnie crawled into the other bed to snack on her marshmallows and nachos.
“Ugh, gross.” Ryan rolled his eyes dramatically.
“It’s delicious!” Bonnie said as she defiantly crammed a handful in her mouth.
“All right. Tell you want.” Ryan smirked. “I’m gonna get you tucked in and you can stay up until you finish your disgusting snack. I gotta go talk to Ormenus for a bit.”
“Mmmhmm. Very deep conversations,” Ormenus agreed.
Bonnie wrinkled her nose. “You’re gonna kiss, aren’t you?”
“What we are gonna do is not any of your beeswax,” Ryan said sweetly as he pulled back the blankets to get her tucked in. “You’re totally safe here, okay? I’ll be back soon.”
Ormenus touched the phone on the bedside table. “If you need us for any reason, just pick up this phone, all right? I promise we’ll answer.”
“Can I have the remote?” Bonnie held out her hand eagerly.
“Here you go.” Ryan handed it to her and kissed her forehead. “Love you, Bonnie. Be good.”
“Love you, Ry.” Bonnie smiled, waving. “Bye!”
Ormenus slid off the bed and offered Ryan his arm. “Shall we, darling?”
“Yeah, let’s.” Ryan grabbed his room key, taking Ormenus’s arm as they headed to the door. He paused to turn off the lights and then…
The hotel room was gone.
They were standing in a luxurious bath house with a lush bedroom directly attached to the open space. The air was sweet, warm, and there was even a balcony looking out at a glittering city.
“Holy shit.” Ryan took a tentative step forward, not sure where to look next. “Where are we?”
“Just a little place I like to come to sometimes.” Ormenus shrugged casually as if it wasn’t a big deal. He snapped his fingers, changing from his suit into a silk robe and fuzzy bunny slippers.
“Man, I don’t know who or what you really are, but… wow. What a fucking life.” Ryan laughed in delight. “Uh, do you mind if I get cleaned up first? I haven’t gotten to shower since I saw you.”
“Of course.” Ormenus waved at the giant in-ground bath. “There’s a lovely bath right over here I was planning to fuck you in later.” He smirked as he took Ryan’s hand, leading him over to the edge.
“This is a damn pool.” Ryan snorted.
He felt weirdly out of place amongst so much grandeur, his cheeks heating up as he removed Ormenus’s jacket to drape over a nearby bench.
“Like that, do you?” Ormenus smiled. “I’d be happy to get you one of your own. One that perhaps fits you a bit better.”
“I like that one. I planned to give it back to you, but I kinda think I’m keepin’ it.”
“A trophy, is it? It’s all yours then, darling.”
Ryan peeled off the rest of his clothes and then stepped down into the water with a soft sigh. “Wow, this feels nice.”
