“That’s it? Did I wear you out?” Ryan teased.

“Hardly.”

“You don’t have to go easy on me, you know.” Ryan sat up so he could claim a kiss. “I can take all the sex and Hell’s Kitchen you want.”

“You’ll make it up to me tomorrow, sweetheart.” Ormenus smirked. “How about that bath, hmm?”

“Yeah, sure. Do you want me to go get the water going?”

“No need.”

In the space of a blink, Ryan and Ormenus were now seated opposite each other in a large tub, already filled with hot water and overflowing with bubbles. The bathroom was dark, lit only by candles clustered around the sides of the tub.

“Ah.” Ormenus leaned back with a grunt. “There we go.”

“Shit.” Ryan let out a nervous laugh. “That… is going to take some getting used to.”

“I’m sure you will eventually.” Ormenus shrugged. “It’s just a little magic.”

“Just magic, huh?” Ryan snorted.

“Exactly.”

Ryan picked up some of the bubbles to blow at Ormenus. “Do you want me to wash you?”

Ormenus swatted them away. “No. You’re to sit there, look beautiful, and relax. I enjoy the company of a gorgeous young man, even when my dick isn’t being serviced.”

“Yes, sir.” Ryan sank down, groaning lightly as the hot water surrounded his aching body. “You know… You really are kinda sweet.”

Ormenus closed his eyes, grinning. “Only to people who kill me.”

“Well, that seems a little backwards.”

“You earned my respect, sweetheart. Good for you.” Ormenus leaned his head back against the side of the tub and stretched out his legs until they brushed against Ryan’s.

“Oh. Thank you.” Ryan definitely hadn’t been expecting that.

He watched Ormenus for a few moments—whose eyes were still closed—taking the opportunity to study every detail. The candlelight flickering off Ormenus’s shiny black horns was beautiful, and Ryan really did think Ormenus was still handsome like this. He was attractive as a human too, but this…

Whatever he was, Ryan had never seen anything so magnificent.

“How many do you think you’ve killed?” Ormenus asked, peeking open one eye to peer over at Ryan. “Five? Ten?”

Ryan blinked. “You would have been seven.”

“Lucky number seven.” Ormenus snorted. “Well, you can still count it, if you’d like. After all, if I was human, I would have certainly stayed dead.”

“Seven it is then.” Ryan laughed softly.

“You have a good start on being quite the serial killer.”

“That… That wasn’t the plan. Just wanted to make some money, blow off some steam, but then…” Ryan flicked his fingers through the bubbles, memories of blood and screams echoing across his mind. “Between you and me, I kinda… like it.”

“Killing?” Ormenus opened his eyes and grinned slyly. “What’s not to like, eh? It can make you feel powerful, monstrous, and wonderfully filthy. The rush is… unique. To say the least.”

Ryan hesitated to say more. It was strange to talk about this so openly, but Ormenus seemed to have experience on the subject. He dropped his gaze to the bubbles, adding, “Yeah. Like sex.”

“Uh-huh.” Ormenus chuckled low. “It’s exciting. To let yourself go and just see what happens.”
