“Umm, no. I just meant that...” His smirk widened. I knew he was about to do something, and I was right when he lunged for me.

I squealed and ran. It took no time at all for him to catch up to me. He had me pinned between him and the wrought iron fence.

“I have nothing but passion where you’re concerned,” he whispered.

“Is that so?

When his lips covered mine, I melted into him. I had always loved kissing him, and I’d done so many times over the years. Our very first one had been when we were seven. I could still remember a fall day much like this one. We were at the park jumping from the swings like we would any other time, except this particular afternoon, I had mistimed my jump and landed on the rocky area below instead of the grass. I had ripped a hole in my leggings and blood seeped from the small wound. I remember crying until he pressed his lips to mine. It was then when I knew all would be right as long as I had him.

A lot had changed since then, but the love I still had did not. Those small pecks back then had morphed into something else, and just a few weeks earlier after we’d won Junior Homecoming King and Queen, our relationship had taken the next progression when I lost my virginity to him, even though we had crossed multiple bases over the last year or so.

“Why wait,” he’d told me. “We’re going to be together forever anyway.”

He’d had a point, especially since we both planned to attend the same college together before getting married right after graduation. The plan had been discussed and agreed upon, and there was no doubt that either of us would ever change our mind. In fact, I think it was the main reason he hadn’t chosen a college like the others on his team had. He was waiting to see where I wanted to go. We were true soul mates, so our love would never die.

The very thought of spending the rest of my life with Gabriel made me warm and fuzzy inside. That was why I dropped my principles and formal gown that night, then we took our relationship to the next level.

Now, simple kisses like these awakened something else inside of me. Judging by his hard cock pressed against me, I knew it had for him as well. I leaned in, continuing to kiss him back until he moved one of his hands under his jacket. I wasn’t worried about what he was going to do until he began to tickle me.

“That’s not fair,” I told him between giggles.

“I never promised to play fair,” he pointed out, then tickled me more before stepping back. I shot him a glare, but any faux irritation disappeared when he spoke. “I love you, Harper.”

I playfully rolled my eyes, but smiled. “You’re forgiven.” I then gave him another peck before pushing him away. “It’s getting dark and cold out here. Let’s get to your place.”

He extended his free hand and we continued down the Gold Coast street in one of Chicago’s most affluential neighborhoods. We both grew up here. Our fathers were part of a group of wealthy, powerful men known as Titans. Daughters who grew up in these families were society belles, but the sons grew up and became Titans themselves.

The Grimes and Blake families were always very close, so I suppose it was practically fated that we would end up together especially seeing how we were born a month and a half apart. My Gabriel would inherit the entire Blake fortune one day, but I would’ve loved him even if he had nothing. I knew he also felt the same way about me.

We turned onto his street where his house sat on the corner. His family had lived in the historic home for several generations. I had spent most of my childhood in and out of this place, and while it still preserved the ornate details which made the place special, it was also often renovated, most recently taken down to the studs and redone a few years earlier. It’d taken five months to fully complete, and his family had stayed with mine until it was done. Spending time with his mother, Ashley, had given me a love for design. It was the reason I wanted to become an interior designer myself.

“You already have my business,” she’d told me as I helped her pick out countertops and backsplashes that day.

“I’m going to order a pizza. Why don’t you go into the living room and get a movie set up?”

I nodded, and as he scrolled through his phone for our favorite pizzeria, I slipped his jacket off and laid it over the chair. My shoes came off next, and once I was curled up on the couch, I grabbed the remote control. Minutes later, he joined me. I temporarily moved so he could sit down first, then I crawled into his lap and laid my head on his chest.

The action flick I had chosen starred one of Hollywood’s newest up and coming actors, and one I had joined my friends in drooling over every chance we got. Anton Kingston was the epitome of sexy, although Gabriel was the only one I truly had eyes for. I looked up at him and noticed him staring down at me.

Our eyes connected for a few seconds, yet it seemed like a lot longer. His eyes were the most delicious shade of brown. They were almost caramel in color with dark specks that reminded me of chocolate.

My stomach rumbled at the thought, but my nipples hardened, too. I was either hungry or horny, because when I weaved a hand through his tousled locks, I pulled his head forward. Food could wait. Kissing him again could not.

We were so in sync with one another that he knew what I wanted without me even having to ask. His lips seized mine as if he was staking possession. It was unnecessary because I was his, and I always would be.

Our tongues dueled together, although there was no actual resistance from my end. Anything this boy wanted, he had. Gabriel would talk about giving me the world, completely unaware he was that for me and likely always would be.

The kiss deepened, especially once he flipped me underneath him, then covered my body with his. His hands were under my T-shirt and it wasn’t long before I moaned out as his fingers pinched and rubbed my aching nipples.

The night I had lost my virginity had been beautiful. It wasn’t just my virtue that disappeared like a cloud of dust, however, it was his too. Neither of us had even so much as looked at another before. Now that we had come together in the most primal way, I took solace in knowing that we never would either.

God, I love you so much,” he rasped, pulling away. “Just think in a few years, we’re going to be able to do this whenever we want.”

I knew he was referring to sex. We could’ve waited until we were older, but it was the most natural progression in our relationship, and I would never regret our decision. We’d taken all the right precautions, and there was no one else I trusted more than him.

GABRIEL

“I love you, too,” she murmured against me as I stoked the flames of her arousal.
